Hi! Monday marks the start of my church's two week VBT. The first week if for Kindergarten-Junior High the second is Teen week. I was planning on hiding in a back room rolling pennies for the penny march. Instead, I'm teaching second grade girls. I've only been going to this church for two years so I've never even sat in a class as a helper. I'm also not familiar with this age group. I've been given a lesson plan that includes the text and the applications to be made each day. The theme is the Good Shepherd, the the person in charge says he doesn't care whether or not we use the plan as long as we give the kids the gospel. We have around 200 of our regular bus kids coming and groups have been going out every day this week knocking on every door in Fairbanks and North Pole inviting kids. As of last night, 81 had signed up and hundreds more invited. In addition, this saturday is the Golden Days parade. Our float will has 10,000 tracts with invitations waiting to be passed out.
Please pray that we'll be able to reach these children. Please pray that as a teacher I will be able to present my lessons in a way the girls can understand. It's still days away and all ready I'm thinking "What on earth was I thinking when I agreed to teach." With your prayers, I know God will help me through it and hopefully children will get saved.

I will most certainly say a prayer for you. I know how tiring and consuming VBS can be.  2 weeks of VBS, oh me oh my. What a job!  Cheesy

I always enjoyed VBS as a child and so do my kids. It is a fun way for kids to hear about Jesus. Lots of time the kids coming to VBS are kids that never come to church any other times.

I loved VBS as a child, and as a teen helper, too.  Have fun!   Grin

I will say a prayer for you.  I know VBS makes a difference.  Some good friends of ours came to christ through thier kids comming to VBS.  They came to parents night and have been at church since.  We are all great friends now.  That was 10 years ago!   God bless you on your work.

Thank you for your prayers. The kick-off night went pretty well. There were about 14 girls...a number which is expected to more than double over the next few days. I had to take a "time out" to pray before I got my class. I was so nervous my teeth were chattering. I felt like I was talking in circles....My helpers said I made sense though. So hopefully I made an impression on some of the girls. I also forgot to give out the memory verse paper.  Shocked
Please keep your friends coming. The powers that be are giving kids real incentives to bring there friends and I've also found out that two other churches are having VBS this week. A lot of children will be given the gospel.

Please pray for the Texas Christian Family Camp Oct. 16th and 17th. Please also pray for the  financial provision for at least one family desiring to travel from out of state to be able to attend.

The funeral is tomorrow. I didn't know the family. A lot of my friends did and will be traveling today and tomorrow. Pray for safety and healing for those left behind. It is expected over 1,000 will attend this funeral. Lots of travelers.
