Please pray for a close family member and her marriage.  For the most part, she has been a very good "Created" wife to a somewhat difficult, very self-focused man.  This man is churchgoing but does not appear to be truly saved at all, never has.  He has been home more - used to travel a lot - and suddenly wants a separation.  Not sure if the transition of being home more has caused this, and also his job has gotten very stressful.  His job is his baby, his life.  When he is home, he is texting work people, or calling work people. I mention that just to note that he is suddenly with family more (not travelling), and then this happens.  He is not a "family man" - so deep down I think the problem is that work is his "famiy"....Anyway, this makes me so sad.  Please pray for however God leads you.  I have no idea what means God needs to use in order to bring this man to the knowledge of the truth, if that makes sense.  That needs to come first I think, before he changes his heart.  He was raised a pastor's kid and reads his Bible (not sure how often though), but is very worldly.  Please pray that he might see what true salvation is, as so many with this history think they are saved b/c they said a prayer once.....  Also for perhaps men at church who might give him sound biblical advise.  He is on the music team, so maybe he will open up to them, and there will be someone who will admonish him!  I also found a biblical counsellor for them 3 minutes away.  Never met the guy but he is a "biblical" counselor so that is good.  Them going might be good, but again, I just ask for prayers, b/c God has other ways to reach people, and I just want whatever that is, to happen.  Also, please pray for the wife, for wisdom with her words, etc.  She spoke some good words to him already.  She does not work and they have 3 children.   This makes me so sad, but again, his salvation is so important, too, so perhaps God is working here.
:-)  If you could also pray that the wife prays more for her husband she would appreciate it I think. Often, it is so hard to remember to pray for someone you are upset with, but God can so work miracles through simple prayer.

Also, if someone could send me links to applicable threads here that would help this woman, I would appreciate it.  I think she would read them but I am not on here enough to know which ones would help her.

Thanks!

Nickole

I am really wanting to reach out to my family more, and invite them over and be closer, but it has become so difficult that I don't really know how. Everyone on my side and on husband's side seem to be very content with rarely ever getting together. Even my husband seems very content with the situation...but it hurts me so much.  Cry  I love them, and miss them. I just want to have sweet family relationships where it's obvious that everyone wants to be close, and call one another often, and get together often. I need prayer to either release all of this ( Through the years I think I have released it over and over - what? do I just keep picking it back up over and over too?) , or else prayer for the Lord's strength to keep on reaching out and hoping.  I guess the holidays magnified it even more this year. Husband and I both have our mothers who mostly stay away, and I have 3 brothers and he has 2. I have 4 sister in laws, but not one of them is very close to me, or eachother. Other than my Dad's sister, who also keeps to herself, that's it. That's all the family I have. ......Besides my 7Xsunday family  Wink

Today is the 3rd anniversary of the death of our foster daughter's youngest child at the age of 1 1/2.

Please pray that Steven and Loretta will be comforted today and that they will be able to turn this sorrow into joy.

Please pray for my dad.  He has been blamed by my mom, for a lot of things that he did not do. It is hard to see everyone in his life turn against him.  No one seems to be listening to the truth.  They don't want to see things in light of Scripture, unless they are twisting it to say what they want to hear.   Cry

I guess my mom needs prayer too.  She is the one who is being deceptive.  She is VERY involved with Theophostics and it has been a rough road for the rest of us since she started.  Although, she will tell you that she is closer to God than ever before (she reads her Bible for 2 hours each morning, etc.)....  She is tearing our family apart.  She considers our use of Scripture to be Spiritual abuse.   Angry

Please pray that my husband will know the best path for our family to take in this mess.  Undecided

Thank You!

Please pray for my husband, and his coworkers.  There is very definitely something evil in the store in which he works.  He is nauseous, dizzy, and feels spiritually attacked while there.  He is a very new Christian but knows to arm himself with the Holy Spirit.  He spends his lunch break reading Scripture in the car and prays his way through work.  Since working in this store, he's become sicker and sicker, has migraines, and is fighting a deep depression. Today he finally realized that he thinks it may be something evil inhabiting the building.  Neither of us ever thought we would believe something like this to be true (totally contrary to how we were raised), but we've both seen how non-Christians are affected in this building, and the only two people totally impervious to this are devoutly Christian.  I am terribly afraid that he's being attacked in some way because of the newness of his faith (is that possible?!), but I know that he is safe in the Lord.  He is looking fervently for a new place to work as soon as possible.   There are other very nice people involved, though, and they all need prayers.  Please pray for Brian and his coworkers, and if you have any advice, we're open to receiving it!!

Please pray for a little one I know...

She was born a month ago

with holes in her heart.

It has been a huge struggle, but even though she has had three open heart surgeries, these past few days have proved that she is a fighter. Her Dad is taking it the hardest, worrying for her and trying to keep all the family updated.

Her name is Hope.

Please esp. pray for:

Body swelling to go down
Her whole heart to function properly
Her brain to be kept safe
Her immune system to hang in there
Her lung pressure to go below the present 80 (whatever...pounds? Not a doctor here Roll Eyes)
Her young parents to hold strongly to the Lord's promises.

We need prayer now.  A 'gang' has recently moved into our neighborhood and there are cops on the way to our house right now (out of my control) because our garage was vandalized last night (or this afternoon... not sure) and I'm scared things could get ugly with retribution over stuff I can't control.

Please help me pray for my child's safety.   I'll do everything in my power to keep her safe but I'm well aware that bullets can go right through one human body into another.  I'm limited in my power to protect her in this but God is not!

We already have another house under contract to get out of this area, but are not able to completely leave our home yet.  Although I am considering taking my child and staying with family until we can... either way, He can protect us I know.

Thanks for your prayers.  There are gang/racist symbols and messages spraypainted on the side of our garage, but doesn't appear to be any other damage yet.  The scariest part is that there were a couple of other places that got the same thing, and it's all the white families on this street in a 2 block area that got hit, so it kind of looks like we were deliberately targeted for our race.

The people who are doing this need Jesus.  My first prayer is that God will give DH and I the strength and knowledge we need to keep our child safe, but I'm also praying that something will cause the people who did this to come to know Jesus.  If that would happen, we'd be safe and they would be too. Wow. I will definitely be adding you too to my list, Ridger.

An update on baby Hope...

She is not doing well @ all. So far, they have done four major surgeries, and several other things to keep her alive. On top of the barely working heart, her lungs have gotten infected because of the drainage tube the have put into her which they are unable to remove for some reason. I am pretty close to her grandparents and so am updated probably the most other than family. They are very discouraged, almost like they have lost the baby already. It is heartbreaking to see so much sorrow. Please continue to pray.

Bumping up this prayer request . . . Duke will speak with  someone that is tripping over some of the same things he once tripped over . . . Praying as he 'wrestles.'

Ephesians 6:10-18
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,
and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Hope had a very rough day today...She can't breath on her own and is on IV. BUT we still have Hope  Smiley Thanks on the behalf of the parents for praying.

Udate, 3/29/09:

Vocal cords are paralized, possibally cut.

Air way, wind-pipe swollen where the ventalator is...will make it hard to breath normally later, very difficult now.

She is being fed just a bit of formula, trying to wean her from IV.

Parents and grandparents having a hard time sleeping because of this...please pray that they will truely have rest. They need it badly.

Praise....

Hope is still here Smiley

Her vocal cords were not cut, and the doctors think that they may only be just stiff. We were given a pretty clear update a day ago as to what happened:

When they went in to fix her heart, they accidently cut into her limph system, causing flooding from that around her lungs. It took the doctors 45 days to figure out the problem and to go back in and shut off the "leaker". Because of the flooding, it caused her lungs to have severe pressure, which made breathing near impossible. They fixed that now (&/or God... Smiley), and she is now very slowly on the recovery. HOWEVER, because of the stress, her heart is acting up, sometimes racing @ 300 beats a minute. Your continued prayers are apriceated very much.

Hi, all

I just found out that an acquaintance of mine is pregnant (19 weeks), expecting a boy, but the boy has trisomy 18, a genetic problem.   (for info -  http://www.trisomy18.org/site/PageServer).  The baby has a slim chance of living for more than a few hours after birth.  The lady is carrying this baby to term.

Please pray for this dear lady, for her family (her dh, her 4yo dd, her 2yo ds), and for the unborn baby.

I know God is in the miracle business & that doctors have been known to be wrong before.  (in fact, the doc went through 2 other diagnoses....and said it was a girl....before finally reaching the conclusion that baby has trisomy 18 & is a boy).

Nevertheless, this lady's strength & faith through all this is amazing....pray that she'll continue in this faith & strength.

Thanks!

Thank you to all who prayed, we are closing on a new house this afternoon and moving this weekend!   Grin

We have not been tagged again by the gang since we repainted over all of their messages, they have come back in the night a few times but didn't do anything but stand in the street and point at our home and talk... it appears that God prevented them from doing anything. I don't know why else they'd keep coming back at night unless they had planned to do something and were deterred.  Smiley
