This is actually a request for a pattern. I used to have one, lost it in one of our moves. It was a little wrap around sundress ( for babies)  that was cut from a single flat piece of material. You cut two U shapes and that was the little cap sleeves and then either put a drawstring around the neck (or maybe elastic) and then the string tied in the back at the neck. The pattern I had had little panties too. It came from a magazine.  They are soo cute , has anyone got this pattern or know of a website? Thank you so much, wanted to make some for a friends new little one. I absolutely LOVE this thread !!

I haven't found the pattern you're looking for but I just found this and had to share it!  I'm so impressed that she made an adorable little girls' dress from a button-up men's shirt.

That sounds like a pillowcase dress.  Try this one:  http://zeahrenaissance.blogspot.com/2007/06/step-by-steppillowcase-dress.html   If that's not right you could google "pillowcase dress tutorial" -KG

Free download of  a book, first published in 1911, called "Stitchery For Girls". It's a five year course in hand sewing and stitchery.

Free baby sling pattern (like Peanut Shell and New Native Slings)

I have made several of these for baby gifts, and they are very easy and inexpensive.  I just finished a 'his and hers' set Smiley

This is actually a request for a pattern.  My DD is looking for a nice feminine looking western styled skirt pattern and blouse pattern.  We have found peasant skirts, and most of the patterns we have come across cost almost as much as buying it!  Anyone have some ideas? Thanks

If you go to reply #9 in this thread, WR posted a link to a free peasant skirt pattern/tutorial. It looks very simple to follow and the skirt looks great. HTH  Smiley

OOPS!  Guess I didn't proof my typing enough Embarrassed.  We do have a peasant skirt pattern, but most western style patterns  bring up a peasant skirt for their definition of western wear. We were looking for something with perhaps a v'd  yoke waist.  My DD is 17 and needs ladies sizes.  I did love the shirt dress though.  I will pass it on. thanks  I will also look at the others.
