did I miss something? What's the Joseph story? Are they doing a study on Joseph or something?

We (my husband and I both) are curious what is "the prophecy of the house of Joseph"?? Never heard of it. Is it a prophecy of the USA?

Today, after the elections were over, I put a copy of this (
http://www.ki4u.com/guide.htm
) on the break table at work. I had quite a different reaction from the others than I expected. Eager to read it...hesitent to let others know they are reading it. I expected them to avoid it like the plegue or something, like they didn't think it appropriate for me to shake their safe world with such an idea/possibility.

Hey all,
We finally made it east to Tennessee for a visit with family. While we're out here (the month of November) we'd be happy to meet with any of you in this area that are interested in moving out toward the Great Divide. Here's a link on WTM about a possible get-together...

We have lived out here for almost 3 1/2 years and have barely hit the tip of the iceberg on all that there is to know about the area. I do not know Bekah personally, but I thought I'd add some more thoughts about it. My words are italicized in purple. Personally, it was really neat to read what someone else has to say and get another perspective about where I live!
Quote from: ForeverGirl on July 30, 2008, 05:45:35 PM
I'm going to copy and paste some email portions that I wrote to a friend (who is moving here soon) over a year ago. Our discussions were about this area (the Continental Divide).
Yeah, we love it out here. Even though I was raised in Tennessee, and traveled all over the world, I can honestly say there's just something about the high desert that enthralls me. I think it's the wide open spaces, and being able to see for miles across the changing terrain of red rock canyons, aroyos, pine covered mountains, and sage brush plains. And oh, the aroma!
I agree!
Anyway... it IS dry. It's not like tossing a seed in the backyard and then watching it turn into a beanstalk. You have to garden WITH the land out here. However, the Indians did garden; pumpkins, corn, beans, peppers, etc... successfully. There aren't many bugs or diseases to fight - just the dryness. Plants that like alkalinity do very well: broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage... My potatoes and beans are growing like crazy this year!
I am just learning how to garden out here, but I love it! There are a few challenges: cool nights, some hot days, high winds, a month or two of heavy rain. I second the scarcity of bugs, another reason I like it out here!
As far as ministry goes, my husband is actually gone right now to the Flea Market with friends. They set up a tent and a couple of tables and a sign that says "What Does the Bible Say About ________?" and answer Bible questions. They also give out Bibles and show people how to use a concordance and study. The Navajos seem to really appreciate the idea of just answering questions straight out of the Bible instead "white man religion." I usually go with the kids as well, and help sell jasmine tea, bottled kombucha, and watermelon slices. We stay pretty busy, make a little bit of money, and talk to a lot of people.
We are in the ministry also , working with both the Zuni and Navajo people. Many are searching for answers, tradition doesn't satisfy, alcohol doesn't satisfy... The Zuni people will listen politely but it is very hard for them to come out of their traditional religion. They are a very friendly people who make some amazingly beautiful jewelry. It's my favorite! The Navajo people are more reserved and in our area not as traditional (I know in other areas they are). Alcohol is a major problem on both Reservations. Several relatives of our friends have almost died of exposure. One as recently as last month. It is definitely a mission field!
... Right now though, the only internet out in the rural area would be satellite. Here in town we have DSL, but this town is NOT a great place to live. All the Indians that have an alcohol problem come to town to drink because it's illegal to drink on the Reservation.
Yes, we live in a rural area and have a satellite.
The super adobe housing is something we'd like to try as well. It's really cheap, for one thing! The guy who is building the super adobe house (earth bag) spent 1K on the bags and the rest is just dirt and labor. He cut the trees off of his own land. Later he will stucco it inside and out for a smooth finish. We also love adobe, which is mud brick, but oddly enough, it's the rich-people construction of choice. Gabe helped his grandfather build a straw bale house which we lived in for two years. Straw bale is my personal favorite. It's very warm in the winter and cool in the summer and has a great cozy feeling inside.
>
What diff. size (acres) pieces of land are there? $?
In R_____, the area we are looking at, there are plots of land (no house) as small as 5-10 acres and as large as 480 acres. The prices per acre depend A LOT on how big the plot is. The smaller plots are going for 3-5 thousand per acre! Yikes. The larger plots (200 acres+) are going for around 1,500 an acre. The 480 acre plot we know of is expected to go for around 500 - 1000 an acre.
An awesome area!
> Did you say there was water sources on/near the land? streams? wells?
Pretty much everyone out here has to dig a well. There is a lake in R____, but hardly any properties have year-around flowing springs. Some people also do rain collection. Wells are sometimes wind powered because we have a lot of wind on the plains.
Not many streams, a few ponds here and there.
> Who owns all the Forest Land that it is next to?
The Forest Land is National Forest. The Reservation land is "reserved" for the Indians, but they mostly live in town so the land is empty. I'm talking about thousands of acres. The National Forest land is about 8,000 feet altitude, and covered with ponderosa pine and pinon at the base. It is very populated with elk and deer.
> Is the wildlife protected (deer & elk)? What about the timber?
The wildlife on the National Forest can be hunted with a permit during hunting season. The same goes with private land. The timber on the National Forest land is protected, but private land is yours to do with what you will. There is a water rights suit by the Zuni tribe, wanting to limit the use of water on private land if it is runoff from the Zuni reservation. The owners we have talked to say that it will be years before the suit is settled, and if it is, the owners will still have to be allowed a reasonable amount of water use. Gabe knows more about that, if your husband wants to know anything in particular about the water rights issue.
To hunt, you have to put in for a draw. If you study the drawing odds from the previous year, you get a pretty good idea of the best chances of getting drawn. Some units are easier to get drawn in than others. This past year, my husband and I both were selected for elk. Hubby shot a cow elk! Yay! Hopefully, I will get one next year
(We also hit an elk with our car in August...so I guess we did get two
) Hunting out here is a lot different than back east. No tree stands...you either have to track or hunt the watering holes. I don't like tree stand anyways
My husband has been all over these mountains and we have only lived here for three years....he's one of those guys that likes to see what's over that next hill or mountain. Oh, there is also bear and mountain lion hunting with dogs. Hubby has also shot 2 bears since we have been here. He says hunting is way better out here than back east.
> Who is selling the land?
Various people. Individuals.
>
> What is the weather like? Summer? Winter?
This is High Desert. Our altitude keeps it from getting very hot here. In the Summer it can be in the 90's for a month - during the day. But when the sun goes down, the temperature drops 40 degrees. In the winter it rarely gets below 0 - our coldest month the temperatures are usually in the teens at night, and up between 30 and 50 degrees during the day. We get a lot of snow compared to the Southern states, but not as much as Colorado. Our rain fall in the plain is 9 inches a year, and in the mountains it is about 35 inches a year. R_____ is around 20 inches a year.
We love it! No humidity!!
> Silly ?: do most around there (the Navajo's) speak english? just curious.
The younger ones speak English with a limited vocabulary and a funny accent. The old ones may not speak English, but will probably understand quite a bit. We also have a large Mexican population here. Some of them speak English, others don't. The Zuni's are the same - but not as many of them. We actually have a lot of Indian tribes around us: Navajo, Zuni, Acoma, Pueblo, Apache...
In our experience, we have met Navajo Grandmas (who speak only Navajo) that cannot speak to their grandchildren (who speak only English). I was talking to a 3rd grade teacher and told me how she asked the students in English who speaks Navajo and all the children raised their hand. She then asked the same question in Navajo and only 2 raised their hand. In Zuni, it seems like more people speak the language (which is completely different than Navajo), but we have never met a Zuni that does not speak English.
I came from the South. My family, as far back as we can trace is from TN and Georgia. When I came West (Gabe is from here and I moved when we married) I expected to be really lonely and lost. I was pretty lonely the first year, but as I began to meet people I discovered the coolest thing: Everyone in the West is from somewhere else and moved here and stayed here because they are strangely independent and creative.
The people out here wouldn't fit in anywhere else. There are so many inventors, artists, herbalists, and wrinkled, brown, old geniuses camped out in the desert. The Indians are from here, but even they are curiously still pioneer-like in their way of life. When you drive down the road to Zuni, you still have to stop while a Navajo herds his sheep across the road, and slow down to avoid hitting the cattle that are grazing on the side of the road. You will see old Grandmas baking bread in a fired mud oven in the back yard, and they will still be dressed in their old traditional flowing skirts, velvet blouses with silver coin buttons, and heavy strands of turquoise from the mines. The cowboys in their spurs, jeans and hats still sit on the tailgates of the their trucks passing around a smoke from buddy to buddy while they wait for the women folk to sell their wool and hand woven rugs.
It is idyllic, the culture here is very rich...but you see people passed out on the street from too much alcohol, hitchhikers weaving on the highway trying to get to town to get another drink in sub freezing temperature. People approaching you in the Walmart parking lot for nickels and dimes cause they are cold and want booze to warm their body. All this to say is they need Jesus and we need to tell them. For me, it was really easy to get calloused, but I had to be reminded to see people like God sees people...like He sees me, a wretched sinner who He loved so much that He sent His only begotten Son...for me...unworthy, but for me...
Town is more modern than Zuni and Window Rock (towns on the Rez) but it's still a cultural experience. Nobody really fits in a mold here. This makes it safe to homeschool, homebirth, home-doctor, and live the way you feel is right. Nobody cares. This is the wild west.
Albuquerque is about 2 hours away if you need to get more shopping in or want to take the kids to see the zoo. A day or two (well, for my husband only 3 hours
) is all we can handle of the big city and we are ready get home.
There actually aren't any homeschool laws other than you are supposed to send a letter to the state board of education and tell them that you are homeschooling "Johnny" and he is in first grade... Even that is not checked up on or pursued... never heard of anyone having any difficulty homeschooling. There are so many "hippy" type people in this area, people that take care of their own medical needs, schooling, etc... The state is pretty relaxed.
We'd like get rid of Gov. Richardson
... any takers?
It isn't necessarily easy to live here - but the hardships are not related to bad people; just raw, untamed country.
So, you ready to come see it?

I showed this thread to my hubby and he thought about it for awhile. He is keeping his mind and heart open to any direction from the Lord but I thought I'd put out here the one reservation that came to his mind. If a huge bunch of us "wellteller" believers convened together in a "remote" place in order to "fly under the radar" and our "plans" are so public on forums such as this - then the amorphous "they" would know where we were and could focus "hostilities" toward us all at once (
). He wonders if a more "wooded" location would be more prudent due to satelite imaging, etc and if it is a good idea to advertise intentions so openly? Perhaps this has already been discussed and I missed it. Any thoughts in response that I can send his way? Thanks so much... BTW, we ARE grateful for the dialog anyway since we often feel like loners where we are.

Yeah... we
TOTALLY agree
with your husband. In other words, we are not interested in a community, per-se. The area we "advertise" is HUGE (a quarter of a million+ square miles), and we hope that many people move out individually and in
small
groups as God leads them... not as we lead them.

For a long while now I have been wondering the same thing. Both religious and the non religious keep mentioning 2012 as "the year". The year for a major upheavel and change. Some say major outer space changes will cause much trouble for us, some say the rapture, some say the big war and it goes on and on. Recently one said "the year" will be at the beginning of 2013. According to Mian and Cherokee calenders 2012 is supposedly "the year". But I don't know how to study those ancient calenders so I cant verify all that.
So what is up with the year 2012?

[...] This is a special day for other reasons too... this is a riddle:
I created the first version of 7xSunday during the first week of
December, 2004
.
--gabe
I had the idea for 7xSunday for some time, but at one particular moment, one specific week actually, I felt that God instructed me to "build it now." I was frustrated since I didn't have the time or the money (never have had either to do what
I
wanted to with it...), but I built the 7xS we have now in that particular week.
It wasn't till two years later that I believe God told me in prayer that even the name (7xSunday) was not of my choosing, but of His. A limited time to teach. 7 "times" to be exact. What happens after this I have opinions on, but as far as I can tell, this time to teach / preach will be over.
Is that cryptic enough? It was a riddle after all...

Hi snowflake,
I just noticed your post... the job market is slim here as well right now... although probably not as slim as other places due to the fact that most of the money that flows through town is coming from government subsidies to the Native Americans. Most of the money in our town is made off of the Native Americans. So businesses that are still booming are: laundromats, restaurants, Wal-mart, loan shops, government facilities, the casino, and alcohol sellers. Auto mechanic places still look busy... there is still a good amount of construction going on... A distant relative of mine just got a job as a cook at a restaurant...
I assume it is very much like this in any of the "Rez towns" in the four corners area right now.
We have friends that homestead, with side income. I'm not sure how much side income they need, though. They also don't have very much land, or a well, which makes it much harder for them to homestead.
We will pray that God will lead your DH perfectly... God will provide wherever He leads.

Hmmm... well, ask some specific questions, so we'll know what you need to know...
Also, to anyone interested, we recommend a very large area that comprises parts of southern CO, a lot of NM, and parts of AZ... We're not putting together a "community" here... Just recommending that you move out of the cities, and into the mountains of the South West. We also think that parts of Montana, North and South Dakota, and Minnesota are a good choice.
God bless,

Why the south west? Isnt the variety of foods and madicinal herbs that can be grown in those places less then the places with more rain?
If I could live anywhere else in America I think at this time I would pick Montana where the wild edible weeds and herbs grow plenty and a person could live off the land much easier due to their being so much territory to go looking for food and hunting. And there seems to be enough water and privacy there too. But I have never been there long term so I cant say for 100% sure about all that.
I cant believe the amount of wild free food out there to get for free in states that are not dessert like and mega hot. But then again the SW states would have more avalablity to fruits all year around. For me I need and want lots of shade, wild vegetation, wild berries and water tho.
My brother was just saying again this afternoon that if an all out crises and war breaks out in America he isnt going to hunker down with stock piles of survival junk but instead he is running out to meet the bombs and enemy so he can get to heaven faster. LOL. I kind of agree with him to a certain degree although I do think one should at least try to get by until their demise helping themselves and others. Do what ya can for yourself and leave the rest to God I guess. Leave it all to God.

Hi Veggie and BJ,
Here is a thread about relocating...
http://www.urbanexod.us/discuss/index.php/topic,23627.0.html
there is also a link to a map on there, and here it is again...
http://www.7xsunday.net/fileadmin/maps/usmap-rectified-spline.png
In short, we have "seen" and expect something similar to what the map's blue zones show as safe... Not so sure about the east coast area that is colored blue. Not totally sure about any of it, actually. The only thing I am sure of is that God judgeth the righteous and he is angry every day with the wicked.
Being righteous is your best survival plan. Everything else comes second. But if you have the chance... consider moving to a "blue zone."
love,
Beka

We have friends that homestead, with side income. I'm not sure how much side income they need, though. They also don't have very much land, or a well, which makes it much harder for them to homestead.
We will pray that God will lead your DH perfectly... God will provide wherever He leads.
Thanks Beka. We really appreciate your prayers. We have been thinking about this for a while.... we're just not sure where/when. We love rocky mountainous places...with water if possible. We are looking for something rural and private. What is the price of land like there? We have 4 boys and would like to find lots of room for them to run
.
My dh has also looked into alternative energy sources... what works best in that area?
Thank you!!!

Yes, the rural areas here are very much like the CO mountains, only our mountains are not so high. The altitude ranges from 6800 feet to 8100 feet approximately. There are a few lakes, tanks, springs and ponds in the area, but not anything like you would see in TN, for instance. No rivers. The rainfall in the mountains is about 20 inches a year.
As far as rural and private... there are many places out here that are so rural you would be snowed in for about 4 - 5 months out of the year unless you had snowmobiles. No one around for miles. However, there are also places that are rural and accessible by 4x4 year around.
Prices... there is a LOT for sale right now, but the prices don't seem to be budging much. Land is going for an average of 3,500 per acre, with a few good deals, if you are patient and look for it for around 2,000 per acre. Of course, the more land you buy, the cheaper per acre... there are some huge pieces of land for sale too. Land without road access cannot be sectioned smaller than 40 acres, so this is the smallest you will find for those extremely rural land pieces.
There are many wind powered well pumps/water tanks for the cattle. We have very high winds sporadically. Because the wind is sporadic (mostly Feb - May) most windmill technology is not the best choice for personal use. We have sunshine almost every day of the year here, so solar power is the most popular choice for alternative energy.

Gabe or Beka
My dreams are so unclear, I "see" trees, lots of trees. Mostly pines, conifers. There seems to be a safety in them. I'm Cherokee and there is a story about how the tree "brothers" give themselves(fall over and block roads etc.) to protect a human "brother". I know that is only a legend and it is God who is our protector but I have seen us up in the trees, not being seen from below and even bungee corded to branches for sleeping. I also was looking in a hunting catalog with my husband and saw some camoflage that had pine trees and was just "told" that would be perfect for the trees. I wake up many times with' Boreal Forest' on my mind. I have researched a lot on boreal forests and wild foods that grow there etc. Would those places in Minnesota or North Dakota that you feel safe be boreal forest?
Also, well here goes (my husband says I can ask)....Why do I have this overwhelming, overbearing sense of impending ...I don't know, but it never leaves me alone. Fear, maybe? I spend ALL the time in prayer about it ,my dh prays for me too. He is my solid rock because he is anchored in Jesus THE solid rock . He tells me God is in control, holds me in his arms... and I am sure of my salvation and do look forward to Heaven, what is wrong with me? I think about seeing my children killed before my eyes, not seeing them grow up,etc. This started with me a couple years ago with the end times thread and has gotten worse and worse. Somedays I feel God led me to that thread so we could begin to plan, God expects us to use the brains He gave us, but other days I wish I had never read those threads. I don't know....it's just an agony. We may not be able to move, like we would like to, because my DH has double diabetes(type1 and type 2) and wears an insulin pump and of course insulin has to be kept chilled etc. He is also very heavy because of diabetes complications and so can't really trek. SW Missouri doesn't look too safe on the "maps". And I would NEVER leave my head, my dh!! He tells me to go ahead and" prepare for rain" (in the movie Facing the Giants the man who plowed his fields in preparation for the rain God promised was the one who showed faith). So, I do store some food and learn wild foods and how to find water etc, herbal remedies and all that but what good will that be if we are right in the middle of all the destruction? I don't know... that's just it, I don't know.
Beka wrote a post once about seeing all her children as teens playing music together, so I think that would seem clear that you all will "make it, and indeed if the righteous will, you deserve to, if for no other reason than the blessing your family has been to ours, I just wish I could be sure about my little ones. I train and teach them about Jesus and what He did on the cross and teach them daily, why do I feel this way? I truly cherish this website, I have been lifted up and blessed by so many of you, please help me. I want peace with this. Does/has anyone else felt/feel this way?

Deb,
Just a quick note to encourage you.
Think of all the times that God's plan for the righteous included an ark, paths through the sea, blinded enemies, enemies overcome with God's spirit and prophesying along with the righteous instead of capturing the prophet, ravens delivering food, unending supply of daily bread....
Impossible survival that became possible! And then there is Hebrews 11...Read it. Watch for the words "and others". See..... God works it all out even if it doesn't turn out "good" in our eyes.
Keep on doing what you can where you are. God may move you, let all others fall by your side while you stand untouched or otherwise protect you. One thing is certain; He will NEVER leave you alone while you look to HIM.
The first thing to do is to live TODAY in obedience to what is happening NOW without fear, in perfect love to God and your family and neighbors.
We can't actually see what tomorrow holds, so all of our planning is incomplete. God may use dreams and intutions to teach us and prepare us to obey, but until we are actually told to DO something about it we need not be troubled or distressed. Let all the uncertainties of the future build a willingness to obey instantly and explicitly the directions that God sends to you.
Rejoice...God says He will laugh in times we call "troubled". Why? Find out. Look through God's eyes. Yes, "life" as we think of it here and now is full of grief, pain, even terror, but this is not all there is to LIFE! thank God...

Dear Deb,
I'll PM you more of our thoughts when I get a chance... we have a lot of company right now...
What the two ladies above said is true... without faith it is impossible to please God... and he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Focus on him and what he is saying to you. Believe him. Rest in Him. Believe that he is GOOD. He loves your children more than you do and desires to save them from harm. He is the only one who can. So ask him how, and then obey every little thing he says. Your DH is right. Get ready for the rain... this is faith.
love,
Beka

My words from a verse I memorized...
Have I not commanded you
Be strong and of good courage
Have I not commanded you
Be strong and of good courage
Do not be terrified,
Do not be discouraged,
For the LORD thy God will be with you...
Wherever,
Wherever,
Wherever you go.

Dear Deb, (this is Beka... and Gabe in the background...
)
LOL, we've been looking at boreal forests for a good portion of our day... wow, so beautiful! Gabe says "not sure about the bungi cord thing... but yes, totally these forests are in every safe zone we've ever seen... " Yes, even better than New Mexico... including pesticides, catastrophes, etc...
http://www.marietta.edu/~biol/biomes/boreal.htm
According to this satelite map
http://www.borealforest.org/index.php?category=world_boreal_forest&page=overview
northern Minnesotta and maybe the north eastern corner of North Dakota are boreal forests. I'm guessing that in order to live here, you'd have to learn how to garden fast and furiously in the three month growing period, and learn to forage and hunt in the winter.
Learning to live up in the canopy is an interesting idea...

Fear only God, dear sister. I have another "sister" out there who lives in an apartment complex in Chicago. She is also praying and believing for God's saving hand. I have no doubt that she will see His salvation. When the fear comes, rebuke it in Jesus' name, and sing your praise and worship to God. Ask Him to order your thoughts and your actions. Take the opportunity to react in obedience: faith.
Your hubby sounds like a very wise and faith-full man. He has given you direction... to obey him in this (as it sounds like you are) is faith. Prepare as he leads you to...

Don't question whether or not this obedience will do any good... just obey. Noah could have questioned what good his big wooden box was going to do with all the potential to leak, be broken on the mountains, etc... but he obeyed anyway, and God did the rest. Moses doubted that he was the right man for the job and God's response was "I AM THAT I AM has sent you."
Don't look at yourself, dear friend. Look at the God who has given you the warnings... the dreams... the husband that has given you direction to prepare and believe... He is mighty to save. As they say in Hebrew; "His arm is not shortened."

Yes, I know this fear. I have "seen" some of my children playing music in the future, but I don't know what comes between... or what happened to the others... But I do know that God is good. That he loves the righteous.
In my experience, the children of the righteous are shielded from these "worse" things. Specifically in today's right action and faith... each day of YOU watching, believing, and obeying provides safety for your children from this evil world.
I also see in the Bible how often the children are saved from "wrath" even though the parents aren't. The maid of Naaman, Esther, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshech and Abedinego... Possibly Jeremiah and Ezekiel... These were all children at the time of the invasion from Babylon. These righteous children grew to be influential leaders in foreign lands.
I've often wondered about Herod's massacre of the babies in Bethlehem. Joseph was warned in a dream to get up and flee before Herod's men arrived. I wonder if others were warned as well? Listen... pray and listen at all times. I believe God will be faithful to warn you and give direction if you are listening. It sounds to me like He already is.
Teaching your children about God, his righteousness, his faithfulness... this is the right thing to do. Let God take care of the rest.
I decided to go ahead and post this publicly in case there are others with similar concerns as Deb.
We pray for you. God grant you peace and wisdom.
Love,
Beka
PS: It looks like the movie "Defiance" was filmed in a Boreal Forest.
