Hi, this is Andi.

There's a preacher named Paul Washer who I've been listening to on and off for a few weeks now on YouTube and sermonaudio.com. For some reason he seems to be popular yet somewhat controversial, and I'm not sure why. His sermons are very inspiring and solidly scriptural from what I can tell. What do y'all think, anyone who's heard him-- is his preaching/teaching orthodox?

Also while we're on the topic, if anyone knows any other good preachers online (especially if I can download their talks to my little mp3 player/phone thing), please don't hesitate to recommend them!

I really, really like listening to Paul Washer.  I believe his sermons are controversial because he states that just because you say a prayer - that does not make you saved.  Meaning, it's still what is in your heart.  Many of his sermons will talk about it being controversial also.

Ummmm......have you listened to Mike Pearl over at No Greater Joy.  His preaching is the best I have encountered.  I wish I had more time to just listen and dig into the Word with him.  Here is a link to his Romans teaching- http://www.nogreaterjoy.org/podcasts/old-audio/romans-audio/  There are also podcasts and other audio files.

It was his teachings that led to my salvation.

Since you are new here...I thought maybe you hadn't been introduced to him yet.

No, I'm not familiar with Michael Pearl. I've only read some excerpts from his wife's book CTBHHM (google search on that led me to this forum actually). Thanks Tammy, I'll check out that link!  Smiley
