Since this thread is about "indians" (native to America races and tribes) I have to share the native 10 commandments. I dont see them as a religious thing like we do the 10 commands in the Bible but instead a common since thing to live by. I have also noticed a great repect alongst many "indians" for the elderly. Giving the elderly help and kindess and listening to them. Never walking rudly in front of them and other stuff like that. Showing them respect by paying attention to their words.

10 Commandments Of The Native American People
1-TREAT THE EARTH AND ALL THAT DWELL THEREON WITH RESPECT.
(this makes since to me since God Himself made this earth I feel like we should show Him enough respect by treating His creations with kindness. I dont mean tree hugging type of stuff but Im sure yall know what I mean)

2-REMAIN CLOSE TO THE GREAT SPIRIT.
(This is a no brainer, a good relationship with our Creater by praying, trusting in Him, reading the Bible and so on)

3-SHOW GREAT RESPECT FOR YOUR FELLOW BEINGS.
(another no brainer that is not paid much attention to anymore)

4-WORK TOGETHER FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL MANKIND.
(another no brainer that is not paid much attention to anymore)

5-GIVE ASSISTANCE AND KINDNESS WHEREVER NEEDED.
(another no brainer that is not paid much attention to anymore)

6-DO WHAT YOU KNOW TO BE RIGHT.
(another no brainer that is not paid much attention to anymore)

7-LOOK AFTER THE WELL BEING OF MIND AND BODY.
(another no brainer that is not paid much attention to anymore. Good health makes for a better life)

8-DEDICATE A SHARE OF YOUR EFFORTS TO THE GREATER GOOD.
(helping others with our blessings)

9-BE TRUTHFULL AND HONEST AT ALL TIMES.
(another no brainer that is not paid much attention to anymore)

10-TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS
(another no brainer that is not paid much attention to anymore)

But why that dec. 21, 2012 date???  How did all these different groups come up with that same date?

Maybe something astronomically significant will happen on that date, but I doubt that anything prophetically significant will happen because that date is so known by lots of people....and like you said, no one knows the day/hour....plus, He said He'll come like a thief in the night - everyone is taken by surprise.  BUT, we can know that the time is near!

I dont know for sure but I dont think all those cultures/groups that marked the year 2012, especially dec 21, 2012 thousands of years ago said the rapture would take place then.

Instead didnt they say somethign about some kind of world wide disaster happening that year and around about dec 21, 2012?

I thought I read/heard where some of them predicted there wont be a year 2013 or at least not a good one and that's why  their calenders end at the end of 2012.

This does not mean the world will end or the rapture will take place but instead it sujest to me that perhaps something mega big will happen. For example it could be an act of anture like world wide earthquakes or deadly plagues. Or a world wide government take over or WW3. It could be anything or it could be nothing. Maybe 2012 will come and go with no major world wide problem. I guess we wont know until we get there.

Maybe 2012 or 2013 will bring about something good and all the ancient predictions were wrong. We wont know until we get there. No need to worry. When we know we will go to heaven it makes things a bit easier to deal with. Life may be hard on this earth but it gives me comfort to know it is only tempoary. Heaven is the Christians home sweet home that they have never been to but will be there some day. Our home. So hang on, hang on until the end. Keep on keeping on.
