I recently ran into my childhood best friend who believes she is a witch. Can anyone suggest resources, books, or materials that I could get for her? She is very hardened on the outside but I still see the softness on the inside. Thanks.

Just my opinion, but I don't think there is much in the way of books or resources that will change her unless the Spirit is already drawing her.  The best thing would be you living Christ in front of her.  I know that during times when my heart has been hardened, I wasn't wooed by people preaching at me or giving me whatever book they thought applied to my situation.  I'm not at all saying you would do this, but just wanted to give you my perspective.  Love her as Christ would...whatever that may mean for you and her.

Thanks, I don't want to come on too strong and push her away. Just as I wouldn't appreciate a wican trying to convert me. I'll just be her friend and if the time is right, I can show her from the Bible what it says about witchcraft.

I agree with AndysJess, I believe that if you gave her a book about Wicca now, it might harden her heart. One thing to remember is that someone in witchcraft almost always is "happy" on the outside, but inside is longing for a true peace and real happiness. Show her the joy of the Lord, and when she begins to ask you questions about if her witchcraft will give her that joy, then might be the time to give her a book. After reading that I'm a little scared, even though God protected them, as  I struggle with issues of fear. Should I keep my children from meeting her?  I feel like recently my famlie's been under attack as far as spiritual warfare, I guess I just need to rest in Him and Trust in Him too.

Marisa,
I have been concerned and praying since first reading your post here, as I have known witches in the past.   God's Word is harsh concerning witchcraft and other forms of rebellion, idolatry, and evil.  There is, after all, only good and evil.   If you are a saved child of God, then there is no need to 'fear' evil in the sense that you should fear eternal Hell from exposure to evil.  But I believe that we should fear God, and obey His direction concerning befriending or walking with evil.

2Corinthians 6:14 " . . . for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"

2Co 6:17 " Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,  "

Satan is always looking for new converts, too.   I have seen young people led astray by seemingly kind people who were involved in witchcraft, s*domy, drugs, p*rn, and other evil.

eta;    This type of relationship is one that we teach about when teaching our children the difference between true friends and acquaintances, kwim?   The most loving thing that you can give anyone is the Gospel.   What they do with it is their responsibility.

I was a practicing witch when I came to this site.  If it wasn't for a member here who befriended me (I know her in person, she's the one who told me about this place) and showed me the way with her example, I'd probably still be practicing witchcraft.  She has 3 kids and they would all come visit us as a family.  She told me later that she was a little frightened when she first met me because she could "feel" evil on me, but that her and her husband would pray for me every nigh, and every time they came to our house for God to draw me to him and also to give them protection from my associations.  He did both things. Smiley

To answer your question, I totally agree with AndysJess, there's really no books that will have any effect if God is not already drawing her.  The only one I'd suggest giving her in any circumstance is the Bible.  What worked for me was seeing a Godly example of a peaceful and happy family.  Not perfect, but full of love.  I wanted that, and eventually came to accept that their peace and happiness was coming from God.  Just my opinion here from my own experience, but I'd suggest that you just let her see a Godly example.  That will do much more good than any book.  Smiley

What a precious testimony!!  Yes, I agree that the Bible, either the Book or in your own life, is the only way to reach the lost.

My dad was saved out of witchcraft through reading the Bible. If you read some of the older threads on LOTR, HP, etc I am sagorfamily 1611.

Thank you all. I talked to my Pastor's wife and she gave me some scripture on fear. I am saved and am just very sensitive to demonic influences. I would never be at risk for becoming a convert to anything as my I belong to Jesus, but I will proceed to meeting her with caution. My father was into scientology and I always had nightmares growing up. But our Pastor's wife explained how God will protect. I just want to show her Christ's love and show her from the Bible what he did for her.
