Oh, Beka. Thank you for sharing this. Too bad you lost her contact info., but if you want, you could pray for God to send her to you. If He wants. Last year something like that happened to me. If you want us to join in prayer with you that you be put in touch with her, we will. Now I gotta go listen to the song.

What a beautiful story!
And I'm so happy to be able to watch Practical Herbs! I tried to purchase it from WTM a long time ago (I think it's the same video) and just could never figure out who to pay! LOL Thanks for making it available.

Is there any way to save the songs onto my laptop, or better yet onto a flash drive, or can I only listen online, like youtube? I have v-e-r-y s-l-o-w dial up at home (rural area) via mobile, and I have to go to an internet cafe to download anything........

Well, girls,
I'm in a state of shock and awe over here. Guess who found me today? Rachel!
Is God amazing, or what?!
She is doing great, btw.
Sohnenstrahl, (amongst others?) prayed that Rachel would turn up again. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw an email on my screen this morning saying she had been looking for me for years. No, Rachel has no idea about 7xS or this thread! But she will.
I feel like God is making a point. The I AM point. The All Existing One. Like that "Shopping Spree" story Sohnenstrahl posted, I think I forget that He's got cameras everywhere. He sees us all, all the time. He knows what everyone of us is doing and has done. He never forgets or misses anything. What we sow we also reap... He is not mocked. I love it. I love Him. I am just so impressed with my God again.

Wow!! That is SO like God to do that. Rachel's story was amazing and goose-bumpy for me. I, too, have been thinking of her! Just incredible.
Btw, I've just about memorized those beautiful songs (I love the continuous play feature!). Can't thank you enough for sharing them - what a blessing.
PS
And I think you have a
lovely
voice.

Deb, the post translated the smileys into their names: There was a cheesy smiley and a shocked smiley. Nobody actually typed this out; it just appeared like that probably because I did not correctly copy the text. The words I had were actually just yippee and yay.

That's pretty funny! But I just had my dh download them and what a BLESSING. He put it on mp3 so I can play it in the kitchen etc. And it is soooo great , I think maybe I might coin the phrase---- I'm CHEESY SHOCKED!!! LOL I am really in love with it!!! I hope my daughter will sing one of them in church once she learns the tune and words.

Yeah, now I'm working on a song:
He stood at the door and knocked,
Now I'm cheesy, cheesy shocked,
And ya know...
--I think I'll leave the lyric writing to Beka...

Sorry, no offense meant or anything. I always think of the "cheesy" smilie as more of a laughing smilie and I was laughing in amazement when I read Bekas post. And the shocked went more along with the amazing part.

Hey,
Rachel wrote me "the rest of her story" and said it could be posted here. I am so delighted to be back in touch with her... thank you anyone and everyone who prayed.
Quote
I thought that I would give you and the other girls a continuance of God’s glory in my life.
Life was not done being hard. Although I had fallen in love with God I was still me and continued to make some seriously wrong choices.
From Israel I went to a bible school in England where I met a Scottish guy and less than a couple months later I became pregnant, at a bible school. Before my little girl was born I married this man and proceeded to have another little boy with him. Even though we met in a Christian environment we were both still a long way from truly knowing God and living for Him.
My husband, to put it nicely, was a loser. He became abusive and, without my knowledge, had started using meth again while I was out supporting us. On the day that he stood over me with a cinder block as the two kids gazed through the window watching him I decided that this was all wrong. This was not what God wanted for me or my kids.
Through out our marriage I had clung to the simplicity of God’s love for me, the simplicity of love that Beka had shown me and through the next hard step in my life, of leaving my first husband and taking care of my kids I flung myself onto God and really experienced his personal love for me. I mentally knew of his love for me, had grasped for his love for me and had tasted his love for me. Yet through these hard times I experienced in depth his love for me.
Not until most of the chaos of dealing with someone who is on meth and psycho had passed did I come to realize God’s hand over me and my kids. It was not until the storm was over that I realized my simple belief and openness to God’s love for me permitted Him to show me personally his depth of love for me.
Beka had told me that God did not want us to be miserable in this life; this life was to be enjoyed and full of laughter. My favorite quote from Beka is, “You just made God smile.” There is something about the thought of having the ability to make God smile and that quote has been a huge influence in me wanting to make God smile. Yes, I am still me; yes, I still have all my scars and major flaws but I know that I make God smile and that right there is worth a lifetime of hardships.
During my time of being a single mom and falling ever more in love with God, he brought me a man that I feel was his way of showing me, that in his care, he provides exactly what you need. Ian fell in love with me with all my flaws, insecurities, my completely ill-equipped mentality of what a healthy relationship is, along with two kids. His personality, up-bringing, and love have become God’s biggest tools in showing me what relationships are about, what love on this earth is comprised of and how to communicate, deal with emotions, and appreciate who I am.
We have been married for almost 4 years now, have three beautiful healthy kids and for the most part I am about as dog happy as they come. I have since been able to use my numerous experiences to reach out in understanding to many people, to love them in simplicity the way that Beka loved me and the way that God continues to love me. I guess I wanted you to know that even when you are raised so ill-equipped for life, love, and living the simple act of God’s love can become all the equipment you need to “make God smile” and in turn find yourself smiling a whole lot and very often.
Love Ya, Rachel
Praise God!
