wasn't sure where to put this, but i was wondering if anyone or their child has read "tuck everlasting" and if it is suitable and appropriate for a 10 yr old.  she is trying to choose her next book to read and i like to preview them first but she needs it quickly for her reading list for school.    (i homeschool)   i would like to find a good review site for like minded ppl.  many of the books recommended i wouldn't dare let her read!
thanks!
p.s.  wasn't sure whether to put this here or in school forum, so feel free to move if needed.

I read the book and watched the movie. I would say it is fine. The only thing people may have issues with is the fact of the "magic" water that makes them live forever. (Hope I didn't give anything away) I loved the book and the movie. The book I read a long time ago.....hope that helps some. I think it was walt disney that did the movie and it was great!

Here is a site I found when I googled "book summaries"

http://www.freebooknotes.com/

On that site you can look up some books and find summaries and plots. Here is what pulled up for "Tuck Everlasting"

http://www.freebooknotes.com/book.php3?id=4088

There are other sites too when looking up book summaries.  The sites do not tell everything one would like or dislike about any particular book.

Our children read that book at around that age. It isn't bad imo. Yes, the family has found that certain water they have gives them everlasting life, but the book is more about the fact that they wish they could undo that "gift" and how they don't want the girl to face the same fate. We never saw the movie, but my brother said it was good also.

I found the book very enjoyable.  I wouldn't hesitate to let a 10yo read it.
The movie i didn't enjoy as much - they deviated a bit from the plot (as usual) and made the girl a bit older which led to a bit of romance.
