This is one of my all time favorites. Its by Considering Lily and called the Pieces Fit.
I was like a jigsaw with pieces missing, square peg and round hole
I'd try to climb a ladder but always slipping, high jump short pole
I was stained till he came and cleansed me,
I was torn till he came to mend me
It was a match made in heaven from the moment we connected
His grace for my shame
His death for my blame
His stripes for my pain,
And the pieces fit
His joy for my grief
His hurt my relief
My doubt his belief
And the pieces fit
And the pieces fit
I was like a story without an ending, a mystery with no clue
A maze where each direction is deceiving, with no one to lead you
I was confused till his answers reached me
Unaware till he came to teach me
It was a match made in heaven from the moment we connected
His grace for my shame
His death for my blame
His stripes for my pain
And the pieces fit
His joy for my grief
His hurt my relief
My doubt his belief
And the pieces fit
Its no wonder I've been made whole
since I surrendered my heart and my soul
His grace for my shame
His death for my blame
His stripes for my pain
And the pieces fit
His joy for my grief
His hurt my relief
My doubt his belief
And the pieces fit
His grace for my shame
His death for my blame
His stripes for my pain
And the pieces fit
His joy for my grief
His hurt my relief
My doubt his belief
And the pieces fit
And the pieces fit
And the pieces fit
And the pieces fit

A couple more of my favorites
:
Bring The Rain by MercyMe
I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that I've gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You
Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you oh Lord
My only shelter from the storms
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray
Chorus:
Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus Bring the Rain
I am Yours regardless of
The dark clouds that may loom above
Because You are much greater than my pain
You who made a way for me
By suffering Your destiny
So tell me what's a little rain
So I pray
Chorus:
(Repeats)
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty

Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) by Chris Tomlin
Chorus:
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love, amazing grace
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, who called me here below
Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine

Everlasting God by Lincoln Brewster
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
Wait upon the Lord

Our Hope our strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint You won't grow weary
You're the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
The everlasting God

The following is a portion of an entry I posted on the
Prayer Requests (& Praises)
thread:
Quote
Then, later when Andrew (DH) was wiping off my belly, changing the dressings on my incision, we let Abigail and Phinehas watch - so they understand why they can't climb
on me. Abbi was gently petting my belly and she said, "You can sing the 'thank you for healing me' song!" Another heart melter.
The song Abigail was referencing is actually two songs. One is from David Crowder's album "Can You Hear Us?" It is called
Thank You For Healing Me
:
Thank you for loving me (x4)
Thank you for finding me (x4)
Thank you for hearing me (x4)
Thank you for healing me (x4)
Thank you for loving me (x4)
Thank you for saving me (x4)
Thank you for saving me (x4)
My Jesus I love Thee, I know Thou art mine.
The other song is from Klaus Kuehn's "Healing Water's" album. This I HIGHLY recommend! It is called
You are Healing Me
:
When I come into Your sanctuary, Lord
You wash over me, You wash over me
When I come into Your presence, Lord
You wash over me, You wash over me
You are healing me
You are healing me with Your love
You are setting me free
When I come into your courts
You are healing me
You are healing me
You are healing me - healing this heart of mine
So I come into Your sanctuary
Where You're healing me
You are setting me free
So I can fly, fly with You Jesus
You are healing me, healing me.
Now I'm seated with you in heavenly places, Lord
Seated with You in heavenly places, Jesus
Higher than I've been before, Lord
I soar by Your Spirit, Lord
Yes, I soar by Your Spirit, Lord
You're setting my spirit free.
Just thought I'd share!

THANK YOU so much!
I was going to echo Beka's request anyway.
But I didn't realize you'd lead me to the next worship cd I have been hungry for. I've been so hungry for something fresh and the song on the Klaus Kuehn site hit me right where I needed it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Dear Boss
by Robbie O'Connell with the Clancy Brothers
Sung with an Irish accent
Dear Boss,
I write this note to you to tell you of my plight
And at the time of writing I am not a pretty sight.
Me body is all black and blue and me face a deadly grey
And I hope you'll understand why Patty's not at work today.
I was workin' on the 14th floor - some bricks I had to clear-
And throwin' them down from such a height was not a good idea.
The foreman wasn't very please (he'd been an awful sod)
And he said I'd have to take them down the ladder in me hond.
Now shiftin' all those bricks by hand - it seemed so awful slow.
So I hoisted up a barrel and secured a rope below.
But in my haste to do the job I was too blind to see
That a barrel full of buildin' bricks was heavier than me.
Now when I came down I cut the rope and the barrel fell like lead.
And clinging tightly to the rope I started up instead.
I shot up like a rocket and, to my dismay, I found
That half-ways up I met the bloody barrel comin' down.
Now the barrel broke me shoulder as to the ground it sped
And when I reached the top I struck the pully with me head.
I still clung on, though numbed and shocked, from this almighty blow
And the barrel spilled out half the bricks 14 floors below.
Now when the bricks had fallen from the barrel to the floor
Sure, I then outweighed the barrel and I started down once more.
Still clinging tightly to the rope, I headed for the ground
And fell among the broken bricks that were all scattered 'round.
As I lay there moaning on the floor - sure, I thought I'd past the worst-
Then the barrel struck the pulley wheel and didn't the bottom burst?
A shower of bricks came down on me - sure I hadn't got a hope-
And as I was loosing consciousness, I let go the bloody rope.
Now, the barrel, it bein' heavier it started down once more
And it landed right across me as I lay there on the floor.
I broke 3 ribs and my left arm and I can only say
That I hope you'll understand why Patty's not at work today.

These two songs were written by our pastor's wife for my last two children's baby dedications. I get emotional every time I even read the words.
Moriah Grace
Precious as a flower blooming in the spring
You were born into our home
And our hearts began to sing.
Your perfect sking and toothless grin
And your tiny fingers and toes
That downy hair upon you head
And your scrunched up little nose.
You're Heaven's sunshine in our hearts
And with your life we can start
To form new memories as we watch you day by day.
And it's so wonderfully true
That in our Father's plan was you!
In our hearts you've found a place
Moriah Grace.
We watch you growing daily
As God intends you to
And yet we can't help feeling
A sorrow that is new.
We dread the passing of each day,
Yet you change in some new darling way.
And we know you can't forever stay
Our tiny little baby.
You're Heaven's sunshine in our hearts
And with your life we can start
To form new memories as we watch you day by day.
And it's so wonderfully true
That in our Father's plan is you!
In our hearts you've found a place,
Moriah Grace.
Faith Divine
My heart is overwhelmed today
As I gaze into your eyes
I never knew love so complete
til I heard your little cries
The months of waiting seem to be
A memory of the past
As I cradle you in anxious arms
Now holding you at last.
My Faith has brought me to this place
Where in God's plan Divine
I offer back this little miracle
I am priviledged to call mine
I won't always have the answers
To life's trials, storms, and tests
But with Faith I'll always lead you to
The One who knows you best.
My life is now so different -
I knew that it would be!
For every little part of you
Demands a part of me
So every day I'm praying
That you will somehow see
A bigger part of Jesus
As you grow up watching me.
We won't always be there to dry your tears
We won't always be there to calm your fears
We won't always have the answers to life's trials,
storms, and tests
But with Faith we'll always lead you to
The One who knows you best!

Okay, I don't see this one posted here, so I thought I'd throw this in. It's
The Scotsman
by Bryan Bowers. It's always been one of my favorites
.
Well a Scotsman clad in kilt left a bar on evening fair
And one could tell by how we walked that he drunk more than his share
He fumbled round until he could no longer keep his feet
Then he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
He stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street
About that time two young and lovely girls just happend by
And one says to the other with a twinkle in her eye
See yon sleeping Scotsman so strong and handsome built
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt
They crept up on that sleeping Scotsman quiet as could be
Lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see
And there behold, for them to see, beneath his Scottish skirt
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth
They marveled for a moment, then one said we must be gone
Let's leave a present for our friend, before we move along
As a gift they left a blue silk ribbon, tied into a bow
Around the bonnie star, the Scots kilt did lift and show
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
Around the bonnie star, the Scots kilt did lift and show
Now the Scotsman woke to nature's call and stumbled towards a tree
Behind a bush, he lift his kilt and gawks at what he sees
And in a startled voice he says to what's before his eyes.
O lad I don't know where you been but I see you won first prize
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
O lad I don't know where you been but I see you won first prize

This songs been runnin through my head and i can't remember the rest of it let alone who wrote it. Anyone member this song? i think it's from mid 80's or early 90's Christian music:
Some people want to live within the sound of chapel bells
But i want to run a mission a yard from the gates for hell
And with everyone you meet take em the Gospel and share it well
Look around you as you hesitate for another soul just fell
Let's run to the battle

God with Us
~MercyMe
Who are we
That You would be mindful of us
What do You see
That's worth looking our way
We are free
In ways that we never should be
Sweet release
From the grip of these chains
Like hinges straining from the weight
My heart no longer can keep from singing
Chorus
All that is within me cries
For You alone be glorified
Emmanuel
God with us
My heart sings a brand new song
The debt is paid these chains are gone
Emmanuel
God with us
Lord You know
Our hearts don't deserve Your glory
Still You show
A love we cannot afford
Like hinges straining from the weight
My heart no longer can keep from singing
Chorus
Bridge
Such a tiny offering compared to Calvary
Nevertheless we lay it at Your feet
Chorus

When I go don't cry for me
I'll be home and I'll be free
The wounds this world left on my soul
Will all be healed and I'll be whole
The sun and moon will be erased
With the light of Jesus face
And I will not be ashamed
For my Savior knows my namel
And it don't matter
Where you bury me
I'll be home and I'll be free
And it don't matter
Where I lay
All my tears be washed away
Gold and silver blind the eye
Temporary riches lie
Come and eat from heaven's store
Come and drink and thirst no more
So weep not for me my friend
When my time below does end
For my life belongs to Him
Who will raise the dead again
And it don't matter
Where you bury me
I'll be home and I'll be free
And it don't matter
Where I lay
All my tears be washed away

How Deep the Father's Love For Us -- Stuart Townend
How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He would give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the Man upon a cross
My guilt upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that is is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no powr's, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

I just heard this song for the first time a couple weeks ago, but it's becoming one of my favorites.
"Wait for Me"
by Rebecca St. James
Darling did you know that I
I dream about you
Waiting for the look in your eyes
When we meet for the first time
Darling did you know that I
I pray about you
Praying that you will hold on
And keep your loving eyes only for me
Cause,I am waiting for
Praying for you darling
Wait for me too
Wait for me as I wait for you
Darling wait
Darling did you know I dream about life together
Knowing it will be forever
I'll be yours and you'll be mine
And darling when I say
Till death do us part
I'll mean it with all of my heart
Now and always faithful to you
Cause, I am waiting for
Praying for you darling
Wait for me too
Wait for me as I wait for you
Darling wait
Now I know you may have made mistakes
But there's forgiveness and a second chance
So wait for me
Darling wait for me
Wait for me
Cause, I am waiting for
Praying for you darling
Wait for me too
Wait for me as I wait for you
Darling wait...
So wait for me
Darling wait
Wait for me

I am looking for the lyrics to the song Death 'Tis A Melancholy Day by Isaac Watts, I checked online and couldn't find them. Does anyone have a hymn book with them in it?

I couldn't find this song/poem anywhere....could there be another title?
I did find this site with tons of Watts' poems listed....there are several just titled Hymn ##.
http://www.poemhunter.com/isaac-watts/
And I did find this site with lots of lyrics listed: (but not the song you asked about...unless there's another title....
also, watch out for ads & popups on this site
)

Quote
Death, ’Tis A Melancholy Day (Isaac Watts)
Death, ’tis a melancholy day,
To those who have no God,
When the poor soul is forced away
To seek her last abode.
In vain to heav’n she lifts her eyes,
For guilt, a wearing chain
Still drags her downward from the skies
To darkness, fire, and pain.
Awake and mourn, ye heirs of hell,
Let stubborn sinners fear,
You must be driv’n from earth and dwell
Alone forever there.
OR THIS? (click for link)
Quote
Hymn 2:52.
Death dreadful or delightful.
1 Death! 'tis a melancholy day
To those that have no God,
When the poor soul is forc'd away
To seek her last abode.
2 In vain to heaven she lifts her eyes,
But guilt, a heavy chain,
Still drags her downward from the skies
To darkness, fire, and pain.
3 Awake and mourn, ye heirs of hell,
Let stubborn sinners fear,
You must be driven from earth, and dwell
A long for-ever there.
4 See how the pit gapes wide for you,
And flashes in your face,
And thou, my soul, look downwards too,
And sing recovering grace.
5 He is a God of sovereign love
That promis'd heaven to me,
And taught my thoughts to soar above,
Where happy spirits be.
6 Prepare me, Lord, for thy right-hand,
Then come the joyful day,
Come death, and some celestial band,
To bear my soul away.

My favorite song is "My God is Near" by Mac Lynch. I was saved right after singing this song, and it seems to fit whatever circumstances in life that I am facing.
Make me know Your presence, Lord, the King of Glory here.
You know each thought and action, hope, anxiety and fear.
How can I hide from Thee? Can darkness hide iniquity?
Oh, how can I unfaithful be when You are very near to me?
Chorus:
When God is near, all the world seems far away.
When God is near, every fear is set aside.
When God is near, how can I stray, how can I falter?
I'll stay upon the altar. I know my God is near.
Make me know Your presence, Lord, when I feel so alone.
You know each trail and teasing, pain, the hurt that is unknown.
Oh, why can I not see Thy hand so firmly guiding me?
Oh, how can I un-trusting be when You are very near to me?
chorus (x2)

Yes that is it thank you! I got the title from the Stouffer Men Cd that we have a copy of, I guess they have the wrong title!

I have many favorite songs, but I really have more of a favorite singer whose songs are all original, and they are beautiful. His name is Marty Goetz, and he is a Messianic Jew. You can only get his music on his site... (just type in his name) and then you can hear his beautiful music. My favorite is For Zions Sake. Here is a link
http://www.martygoetz.com/products/viewProduct.php?productID=10
. It is beautiful, as are most of his songs.

I forgot about some beautiful hymns by a man named Ron Hamilton. A few are Wings as Eagles, God's Perfect Lamb, and so many others I can't name them. You can get a hymn book from Majesty Music.

Has anyone ever listened to Abigail Miller? One of her songs is about a new mother marvelling at the miracle that is her newborn. It makes me cry:
The Miracle You Are
by Abigail Miller
(listen at
http://abigailmiller.com/html/wordsmiracle.html
- the music is beautiful)
These little hands are miracle of grace.
Your shining eyes and your sweet and smiling face.
All that you are, and all you'll grow to be
Is evidence that God is ever merciful to me!
Chorus: Oh, I see mercy in the miracle you are,
A gift to me sent straight from Heav'n above.
God the Father has made me a mother,
What a miracle of mercy and of love.
Looking at you, I'm amazed at what I see.
A bright, living miracle looking back at me.
Perfect according to God's divine design.
Oh, I know that I'm unworthy, but I call this treasure mine.
Chorus
I am a child of the Father above,
You are a gift of His mercy and love,
Oh, I (Chorus).
What a miracle of mercy and of love!
