Servantgirl, I wanted to share a couple things that I hope will help and encourage you.  First, I'm sorry for all you've been through.  God will surely use it for good somehow.  It's his promise!

In our family, two out of our three children have had unexpected traumas, long hospital stays, surgeries, therapists, specialists, mri's, ct's, xrays, tests, home nurses and endless doctor appointments so I truly understand how you feel.  It starts to feel surreal --like you've been inducted into some freaky circus show against your will.

These "professionals" can be intimidating (and sneaky when they want to be).   But I never let that phase me.  I must have had an "air" as if to say, "We are completely confident.  Don't even bother messing with us."  When we were asked questions that seemed too personal, I guess my perturbed facial expressions answered first and gave them the idea that their probing was unwelcome.  I gave short answers, and would often shoot back a few probing questions myself.  They didn't like it when the shoe was on the other foot.  Roll Eyes  Have you ever seen the look on a doctors face when you question his judgement?  That look of  condescension?  Well, they recognize it when they see it mirrored back at them.  It is an unspoken conversation that sort of sets everyone strait.

I am SO thankful for our doctors, nurses, hospitals and specialists.  I know that God used them to save my children's lives.  But I was always mindful that the folks in white coats are just people.  We're just people in a room discusssing methods of treatment.
So remember:
  • follow your husband's leading.
  • your intelligent children are living proof of your capabilities
  • if you're not a member yet, join hslda. (It's worth every cent.  Call them with your concerns and you will probably get some sound legal advice.)
  • take a deep breath and remember, this too shall pass.
    • cast your care and remember the Lord is with you and He'll get you through this and show you exactly what to do.
    HTH
    I have prayed for you!

Praying Servantgirl.   Pray for you Dh to know what to do if this is a warning and keep faith always looking to Jesus.

Rainygladness has such good advice though IMO.

Thank you for the prayers!!  Cool
Rainygladness, I am so sorry for your experiences. It helps that you understand what it's like, but I am sorry that you do, because I understand what it must have been like for you. Some ideas that I feel the Lord gave me yesterday before I posted were to join HSLDA, and to be filled with confidence and fearlessness, not to fear their questioning/ testing. So I take your suggestions as very good advice and as reassurance of what I feel I heard from God.
I do feel much better and calmer about everything, but I still am keeping in mind the importance of the situation, and keeping focused on what I need to do.  Thank you all very much!

Update!
I had my appt to discuss the results of my "brain" test. While I disagree with some of their opinions, and their lack of reasonable explanation of my symptoms, I have to be pleased with their conclusion. They said I do not have a head injury.

The Dr did say that he suggested it would be best for me to put the kids in school. When I asked him his reasons, he said it would be better to reduce stress for me. I responded by thanking him for trying to look out for me. I told him that he simply didn't know me well enough on a personal level, to know how relaxing and calming homeschooling is for me. I said that the stress I have been through would be nothing compared to how stressed I would be with my kids in public school. He seemed to accept that.

Anyway, I am so glad to have that part over!! Thank you all so much for your prayers!!!!

Please continue praying....my stomach is in knots today....kids will be at school, I'll be at work.....pray for their safety/protection away from us, and that they'll come home safe & sound to us.   Pray for God to watch over them, and be with them....and be with me too.  Pray for God to put a stop to this!  Pray for wisdom/direction for us, what to do & say.  Pray for peace...I am so scared.  Dh is not as scared/worried as I am, he feels/knows everything will be ok.....but all the horror stories I've read about have me worried about my kids.....

Also, I guess pray for the person who initiated all this....this person did wrong.

Pray for the other person who is involved...that he would hear God's voice & put an end to this....that he would clearly & quickly see that the initiator is wrong.

Continue praying as much & as often as you can...especially this week/weekend....I'll try to keep posted.

Just wanted you to know I've kept you in prayer all week and will continue to do so.

In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.
For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.
Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

I would like to ask you all to pray for my boys, Spud 10 and Pete 9.  They found out today that their 'summer friend' was killed in an accident shortly after their last weekend of fun together this past summer.    Cry   Cry   Cry

Also, pray for my husband and I to parent them through this time with discernment and wisdom.

and please pray that this will accomplish God's will in their lives for this situation.  Pete, after finding out about this, has for the first time ever said that he wants to be saved and serve Christ with his life...   Smiley

Tomorrow my 15 yo and 12 yo will be taking the annual standardized test.

My Dh uses the results of these tests to see how the kids and I are doing with homeschooling.   They want very much to impress dad and the boys  love the boost of good scores to their ego too Wink.   Please pray that they do well.  They are sick with bad head colds right now.

The guys felt better yesterday for the test just sniffles and a little cough.  They said that the test was easy!  I'm so thankful that they were better yesterday!   Today they are back to feeling awful.  Tongue
I get nervous about these tests because the kids do not do traditional type school and so I begin thinking that they will not do well.  This time we did not feel nervous but calm and still.  God takes care of us in so many ways it is quite humbling.

Thanks for helping me pray.

My guys did awsome on their standardized tests.  I know they are smart but those tests are so darn mind numbing that I always feel they will just space out and not bubble in anything.  Cheesy

SO, once again they did well and the boys and Dad are satisfied and mom is blessed and relieved.   Thank you to all who helped me pray for them in this!

Please pray for my 15 yo, he will be gettin 4 teeth taken out today.  He is a bit nervous and has never had anything like this done before.  Thank you. Smiley

Good report Monita!

For those of you praying for Patti's son... please continue.
His platelet levels did not continue to recover.  They have once again dropped.  That, of course, is not a good sign.
She's asking that we continue to pray that this is being caused by a virus that can be (comparatively) easy to eradicate.

My oldest boys were invited again to camp this summer by our neighbors.
My boys are 14 and 16 and I can just see how much they want to go.  The oldest still wears his camp shirt from 4 yrs ago when he went to one when living in Japan.  It is camp eden in co. so would be out of state.  I do not feel uneasy about them going this time, i actually think they need to.  I will continue to seek God about it but just wanted to ask for prayer.  My boys are praying for the Lord to give their dad the answer and if its no they said that they will take it as God closing that door.  Thanks

Monita, I wanted to tell you that I am praying for this too. I know that it can be a really big decision. I recently read about this topic in the Maxwell's book: Keeping Our Children's Hearts. ( www.titus2.com

Please pray for a family member who is young, not a christian and has a rare liver issue.

Prayer also for friends, chris and his wife.  They had a shotgun wedding, both new believers and now have just lost the baby.  Pray for the Holy spirit, pray to bind the evil one.
