Our household is praying, too, bigpoppa.  When will you know?

These are pictures of a house my wife and I looked at today. The place is amazing. And completely secluded. The nearest neighbor is about a mile and a half away. We have been looking for a place like this for 8 years. Please pray with us that we get it.

Thanks.

OK Bigpoppa I will pray. I do hope you can get the house. IMO living out in the country with no neighbors is great. Lots of benefits to that.

I think this is the right spot for this request.  We live in an area of the country where real estate was ballooning at a ridiculous rate several years ago.  My husband has a really good job and makes good money.  We bought a piece of real estate from some fellow believers who are developers.  The situation on the piece of land was that they would lease it back from us for two years and then buy it back at the end of two years if we had not sold it.  It seemed like a win/win.  Well, the bigger you are the harder you fall and our market is in the toilet!  (With the rest of the country I know).  Anyway, this company is just barely hanging on.  We extended our lease back agreement with them for an extra year, but that is up now and my husband had a meeting with them to take care of everything and now they are refusing to buy back the property as they agreed.  Of course, they are not totally at fault here, we made the choice to purchase the property and it was a bad investment.  But, they are not bankrupt, they do still have assets and they made three of the same such agreements as they made with us, and they bought back the land from one of the people involved.  Anyway, we have our home for sale as well, because my husband has really had a change of direction in his life over the past couple of years and is walking with the Lord as never before.  We want to be completely out of debt.  Anyway, if you could pray for our situation as you feel led.

Will be praying. It looks so wonderful. It looks like what my husband and I want someday. Got to finish building the one we're in first and then sell it. But you know, the things you have to wait for mean the most don't they?  I really hope it works out for you.

Hi Everyone,

I need prayer for my dh. He currently is working for an insurance company in sales. Last month he did not make commission which has hurt us a lot, thankfully he does have a base pay, although it is not enough to support our family very well. He really needs a job that will allow him more time with our 9 & 5 y/0 sons. Also, he really doesn't like where he is working but he won't quit unless there is a new job opening.  We would also like to move from Iowa to NC (where doesn't matter. I am okay with working from home as long as I can continue to homeschool (stopping is no more of an option than it would be Mr. Pearl). But bottom line, I need God to open a door quickly for him to get a new job and if needed money for moving. Thank you everyone and God Bless!

Hi, all

Please pray for the work situation for my husband.  He's in construction (commercial drywall), and work is starting to slow down (I think the economy problems are finally starting to hit this area of the country).  Because of this, so far he's only getting a day and a half on his upcoming check.  When you live paycheck to paycheck (and have no emergency fund), even missing one day of work is a a big blow.  I know God is bigger than all this, and that He's in control, so I'm trying to remain calm & not worry....and I've been down this road a gazillion times before, so you'd think it'd be a breeze for me   Tongue  ....but it's hard....we are back to being behind on bills again, and I just hate it!  Pray for me to remain peaceful (especially for dh's & kids' sakes), and pray for work to pick up, and pray for God's provision/direction during this time.

Thanks!

I'll be praying. I know exactly how you feel. Work (remodeling, construction) is slow here too. I've really been working on not panicking this time and just trust God. But whenever I do the checkbook...I'll pray for you.

Also, everyone, be in prayer for our safety, etc, especially on Tuesday, as it looks we will have a tropical storm, or possibly a hurricane hit here.

Update - it looks like the TS won't be that bad, but still, if you could pray for us today (because we live in a trailer, and there are lots of trees around), we sure would appreciate it!  Thanks!

Also, I ask that you all keep praying about the work situation.  Thanks!

Also, could ya'll pray about our van?  Right now, it needs brakes badly, and of course, there's no money to buy them...but we need to have them replaced because I'll need to go back to work at the end of this month.  But, I do know that if God wants me to go back to work, He will make sure I get there!   Wink

Could ya'll keep praying for the vehicle situation?  The brakes have been fixed, but the van didn't pass inspection b/c it smokes too much.  And we can't afford to fix it.  We will apply for some assistance in this matter, but it won't be nearly enough to cover the full cost (we are thinking that the motor needs to be rebuilt - it's 18 years old!  Could be bad o-rings or a bad head gasket - both are costly, if I'm not mistaken).  So, I'm not sure where we will go from here.   Pray for direction & wisdom.  I know God will provide as He sees fit, and in His perfect timing.  Praise God, I was able to go to work today (I used our car), but that was because dh's work is slow, and he was home.  So, that was good & bad.  But, when dh gets back to work, we are not sure how we will both get to our jobs.  And carpooling is not an option....

Oh Khix when I think about our van I also pray for your van situation. I know how it feels so I can kind of understand what it must be like for you. Our van is 17 years old and the breaks are about gone and the van makes loud banging sounds, front doors wont open and the 1 window is stuck open,  and the ac wont work and the heat is about dead. Please pray for our van as well. It will be a cold miserable ride in the winter time.

I could also use prayer for this head lice situation. I don't find any evidence of lice but to be safe I am washing all the blankets and pillows to be safe. I just now tried starting up a new load of laundry and found out we no longer have water again. So I don't know what to do. Sleep with possibly head lice infested blankets or what. Kind of lost. Needing Gods help right now.

Oh, BJ, I will pray for you too!!

We soooo understand each other!  Our van doesn't have a/c or heat either.  Neither did our old car.   "Been there, done that", and I totally understand!   Smiley

Wow God worked fast on that one! Husband checked out the water situation and this time it was something easy which was just a plugged filter. So once he got that changed we had water again! Thank you God!

LOL! You're not alone girls. Our van is 14 years old and also beginning to fall apart. My husband just manages to stay ahead of our vehicles. Horse and buggy sounds nice at times. But then, my husband says, the horse would break a leg and we'd have to  shoot it!
praying for you both and your vans.

Just wanted to ask everyone to pray for those in the projected path of Hurricane Gustav.  It's expected to Louisiana as a category 4!  Then, it's expected to turn west into Southeast Texas (where I am) & stall out & dump tons of rain.  So, pray, pray, pray!!

Husband is an inspector for FEMA. If they call him out, it will be a provision. He's very good at what he does, and was the last inspector to leave the Katrina disaster in Chalmette.  It's been 3 years, and will be 3 days after the anniversary when Gustav hits.  I do hope he gets the job if they need him.  With the boys running their own business now, we would not all travel with him this time. He usually works 4 months if he is called into a disaster.  I thought life has been interesting enough! ...and if he's working during the Family Camp in Oct. ...sigh...Undecided

Adding to that:
Looks like the last storm passed with only minimal upheaval and loss ( compared to Katrina and speculations and predictions)  ... hurricane season is here. Every year this time of year our family sort-of holds our breath...

Adding to that:
It looks like Victoria or Houston is going to get some excitement...

could you all be praying for work for my husband also? He has had his own re-modeling business for the las 5 yrs. It has been so slow this summer that he's decided to look for a construction job. He's applied as a form carpenter at a dam not too far away. Also he's put in a bid on an addition. Either would be great.

Here we go again!

It looks like we will definitely have some (possibly major) effects from Hurricane Ike here in the SE TX area.  Please pray!

Also, praise that dh is finally back to work today....but continue to pray for our finances...they are not looking good!

Also, pray that I don't get a ticket for driving our van illegally.  It didn't pass inspection and we can't afford to get it fixed, so I am stuck driving it to work illegally.  Pray that no one notices!  And pray that God will rectify this situation asap!   Smiley

I'm going to venture to say that we will definitely have a major impact from Ike.   Hurricane force winds even as far inland as we are.  I'm a little scared...we live in a mobile home.  We will not evacuate since we are this far inland, but I'm thinking we should hunker down in a real home.  However, for allergy reasons & other reasons, we cannot go to my mom's, and we have no other close friends/family we could stay with (we know a few people, but we don't know them enough to feel comfortable calling them & asking if we can invade their house!).  I'm thinking dh will say to hunker down here at home.  Please pray that I remain calm & clear-headed, and pray for our safety!  Thanks!

Please continue to pray.  We are hunkering down here in our trailer.  Pray for safety for us & the trailer!  Pray for electricity & everything to come back on soon after the storm.  Also, pray for everyone in the path of Ike.  Already, in the Galveston area, the huge waves are causing lots of flooding....and it hasn't even rained a drop yet, nor has the storm surge hit yet.  This is going to be serious, I'm afraid.  Please also pray for us to remain calm.

The winds/waves obey God!!  (Matt 8, Mark 4, Luke Cool  Let's pray for Him to calm/rebuke them!
