I haven’t posted in a while but I would like to share a chapter of my life and ask for your prayers.

God has allowed me to learn a very important lesson and I really don’t want to forget.  Dh has always wanted me to work outside the home.  About 2 ½ years ago, my aunt got me a part time (20 hrs per week) at a HFS.  Dh didn’t like me working in retail, so in desperation and frustration, I prayed and asked God that if it was His will that I went back to work, He would find me a job that allowed me to work from home at least 2 days a week and it had to pay x amount of money.  I made two phone calls never really believing anyone would hire me, and the second landed me a job that allowed me to work from home 2 days per week and I made a LOT more than I asked.  Only God can do that. 

I am ashamed to say that I really hoped and thought dh would hate me being away from home and then having to be accountable on the two days at home for the hours I put on my timesheet.  Truthfully, I wanted dh to hate my working.  Well, my new boss was mean and hot-tempered….really, one has to experience that type of behavior for anyone to completely understand how stressed I was on the three days I went to the office.  It was humiliating and horrible, so I prayed endlessly for this woman and for my own feelings towards her.  I never thought I would ever like her, but following the advice of a few wise ladies on this forum, I decided to seek God and to actively put on righteousness.  This was no easy task and I failed often, but I can say that, although we are not close, we have developed a type of friendship.  Others at the office have noticed that I get treated with ‘kid gloves’ now.  God is good!!  And as for dh, well it was I who needed to change.  I see now that if there was a lesson for dh, it paled in comparison to what I was to learn.  Being at home is such a privilege, serving my man is an even bigger privilege, and obeying God is better than any plan I can come up with on my own.  During this last year and a half, I have learned that my life gets so much better when I learn to trust and obey, like the hymn says.  When I got to the point that I could no longer carry the load, I learned to give it all to God, and he saw fit to allow me to be laid off.  I had been praying for a solution and God provided one that was perfect.  Dh was glad, he actually gave me a bear hug and said, “Good, now we’ll have you home all the time.”  My last day is November 6 and I am excited.  Oh, and my boss, she sobbed when they told her I was one of the employees being laid off, so much so that I began to cry and at that moment I felt love for her – only God!!

Please pray that I would never forget to trust and obey God.  His ways are just perfect and his timing is just as perfect.  He can really change our hearts.  Please pray that I would never forget what a privilege it is to be a keeper of the home and that I would endeavor to joyfully be the best wife and mom.  Dh deserves no less from me.  Also, please pray that I would learn to be a good steward of the money dh earns and that we would learn to live with less.  And lastly, please pray that I would continually seek God and earnestly walk after His ways in joyful obedience.  Thanks

Well, here we go again- we have two weeks to find a place & move. We were supposed to meet with the landlords to discuss a new lease but the whole family was sick with a weird virus & we postponed twice after having postponed the first meeting due to DH's work schedule. That ticked them off & they decided not to renew our lease at all- they are going to put the house on the market instead. We have till the 7th to be out & still need to find a place not to mention the money. Please pray that we are able to work it all out, esp money & logistics since DH works 72-100 hrs a week.

Also, the virus we have is weird. We thought it was swine flu since it has most the symptoms but it's not. DH went in b/c he needed a work excuse & they did a blood test- it's not flu but it is a virus. They sent it in to be ID'ed so he was told that they would contact him if it was a real problem. No news is good news type of thing. The weird part is that he also has extreme muscle weakness in his entire body, numbness in his arm & hand & head pain. They tested to see if he had a stroke but that came back negative. So they are stumped.

We would really appreciate some prayers right now.  My husband's company is having some issues, and we are unsure what the reprocussions for us are going to be.  Our baby is due in December.  We know God has a plan for all of this to work for good, we just need some wisdom and direction!  Thanks!!!

Please keep my husband and our family in your prayers today.  Andy has an interview with a college here in Phoenix.  The job would be good, but the main thing is that he would be able to get his degree free while working there.  The last few years seem to have been leading us here.  DH is making a really big career change.

This will just be the start of a long journey to becoming a doctor.  This is something he's wanted to do all of his life, and one thing or another has always gotten in the way.  Please pray for God's favor today.  My husband and I are so excited about this opportunity!!

I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and give a little update.

My DH was able to preach the message and my MIL's service, and he was WONDERFUL! The last time he had gotten up to speak in front of a group (over 2 years ago) he was very nervous, and a lot of things he said didn't make sense. Well not so this time! You could tell that he was inexperienced, but everything he said was crystal clear and very well said. He ended up throwing out his notes and just speaking.  (I always knew he would make a great preacher someday, I just didn't realize it would be so soon!)

A LOT of unsaved people were there, and after the service ended we received a lot of really good comments about his message which was the gospel. One in particular, was a step uncle who has been living in the sin of Sodomy for many years, after the service he came up to Robert, and with tears in his eyes thanked him for the message. We have no idea if there was a change of heart or if his soul now saved, so please pray for him!

A day or two after the service I was talking to DH's youngest full sister (19) and I asked her if there was a time in her life that she had repented of her sins and trusted Christ as her Saviour, and she said yes, during the message Robert preached!!!!! Please continue to pray for her though, as she lives in England, and when she goes back she will be faced with the same ungodly friends and influences she has had in the past 5 years, and she knows that she is very weak in the area of standing out. She does what she can to fit in with those around her, and she now wonders if she should even go back there.

Robert was also able to get some good conversations in with several of his lost cousin. We have not heard if any were saved.

The service was the day before Halloween, and where we were on Halloween was in the middle of downtown San Jose, so I was able to give out a lot of gospel tracts that night, and also we went downtown next to the campus passing out tracts and evangelizing, and one man said he accepted Christ as his Saviour while Robert was talking, but we aren't completely sure. Only the Lord knows.

Well we finally finished moving. Took longer than it was supposed to (not near as long as the last time though- Thank You, Lord) but at least we are completely done now. Now we could use prayer that we get our deposit back & that we get it back quickly. It's a large deposit & the move with it's expenses, new deposits, overlapping rent on 2 places, etc has been very hard on our budget. Getting the deposit back would really help.

Also, we still have a lot of work to do. The new place is nicer than the old one & we really like it but it's also a 30% downsize in living space & about an 80% downsize on storage/workshop/garage type space. From full cement floor basement at the old house to 1 car garage here. We have a lot of stuff (& realized during the move that we had more than we thought) & a lot of our stuff is in storage right now. We have to get that cleared out quickly so we don't end up having to pay next month- we got the storage cheap on a move in special but can't afford to keep it. So please pray for energy, wisdom in what to keep & what to get rid of, & that the items I post on Craig's List will sell quickly (for the items we decide to sell) or be picked up quickly. (for the items we give away for free) We really need the space & the cash. 

The management company is interested in us working for them & we're praying that works out. We're already doing some work on the place for a discount on the deposit. (which we're paying in payments) Getting the work done by the end of the month would really help b/c we're hoping for the discount on Dec's payment rather than Jan. DH works very long hrs though which slows it all down.

One more thing- we've already had the plumbing back up twice. The plumber THINKS it's now fixed for good- please pray that it is, esp since this is a duplex & new neighbors move in the 1st. Our downstairs bathroom is the low point in the houses so if there are problems we get the back up.  If it's not fixed for good (might be tree roots in the line) then wisdom in the cause & quick repairs would be nice.

  We are traveling and our motor home is having trouble.   It is getting fixed.  Please pray that they fix the right things and that we won't have any more trouble with it.(I am not too fond of hotels )  It is a little frustrating, since it is our "home" right now.

Just to update...  We got someone to look at our motor home but they said it would be best to get a whole new engine    and we really can not do that.   And they can't  try to fix it until tomorrow.  So, we will be without our home for another day or two.  Please pray that they can fix it well enough to get us where we are going.

My adrenals are shot, I have no energy, full body pain, my neck & back keep going out &/or lock up causing migraines, with the heat (this house doesn't have a swamp cooler or A/C & can't afford one right now) my legs & feet are so swollen from the knees down I can't barely walk, my emotions are flat for the most part, (although I do end up with the negative emotions far too easily) etc.

DH has been working LONG hrs & is doing it while in major pain as well. (both knees & a shoulder)

We are trying to get something home based going that the whole family can work together at & that DH won't have to work so hard but so far, God hasn't made his will clear on it yet. Please pray for clear direction.

Lots of other (non health) issues that I don't want to get into on line.

I am SO worn out. I'm crying out to God but feel like my prayers are bouncing off the ceiling. Please pray as you are led. TIA Blessings ~herbalmom

PRAISE- We got our answer on self-employment. Thanks to God's leading & generous help from fellow believers it's a go. 

It's still going to involve lots of hard work & long hrs but the work & hrs will now be split between everyone in the family, not just DH. Best of all, we'll be doing it together. 

Having more family time will help with many of the other issues as well- our teens need a lot more time with dad than they have been getting & that's been leading to lots of attitude problems.

The health issues are still ongoing- as a matter of fact, my feet actually got worse after I 1st posted but we're getting a swamp cooler & kidney/diuretic herbs tomorrow & I know that will help with the swelling. The change in schedule along with the reductions in work load, stress, etc after DH leaves his current job will help with many of the other health issues both he & I have, that's for sure.   

Thank you to all that have been praying for us. God is good. Thank You, Lord!!!!!

Would you all please pray for a VERY  big provision we need from the Lord right now?  I say VERY big because to me/us it is HUGE, but I know to the Lord it's all taken care of.

PRAISE - DH found a part-time job, but he doesn't start for several more days, which means no $$ from it for two weeks after that.

I just need to exercise my faith on this one for sure.

Also, I'm requesting that everyone pray for provision for us as well.....I'll go ahead & give the details  - we are very behind on almost all of our bills, and dh needs a good-paying full-time job SOON.....or I don't know what'll happen....I'm trusting in God, but it gets really hard sometimes....it's been a year since dh lost his job, and things have been getting steadily worse financially....God provides just enough to get us by, but not enough to get out of the hole...and the hole is getting deeper little by little.  I know that somehow everything will be ok, but sometimes it's hard to see that proverbial light at the end of the tunnel, kwim?
