Quick update -- talked with my dr. yesterday; she had already arranged for a consult with an endocrinologist up north, so will be going in next week.

As far as the ultrasound, my dr (who I have only seen "professionally" once) thinks we were somehow confused on my dates, thus making the baby a full month younger... but that doesn't explain the positive pregnancy test(s) I took at the same time I would have HAD to have been ovulating to get pregnant, nor does it explain how both she, and the mw, measured my uterus at around 16 weeks...  I suppose its possible  I ovulated at an unusual time, but cannot see how all the rest of this makes any sense. ?

Anyway, to add to the weirdness of this pregnancy:  I knew the radiologist was looking at some sort of growth (I saw it before she started measuring it).  There is, a fairly significant growth  in my uterus, sitting under one corner of the placenta, causing it to "flip" up a bit.  It doesn't look as attached as it should.

Also, my placenta is sitting over my cervix.     Sometimes a placenta can migrate up the side of the uterus a bit as pregnancy progressed, but from the position it is in, it is not too likely --- so that means I would not be able to go with the mw -- in fact, if it stays where it is, they would have me go in for a c-section.  Obviously, because of the location of the placenta, this makes for other risks too.

Obviously, God is capable of fixing whatever needs to be fixed, if that is His will... but sometimes He chooses differently.  I really did not want a hospital birth...    *sigh*

Runamokfarm---praying for you. Im so sorry this is such a hard pregnancy for you. If you have to get a c-section it wont be so bad. I had to have one due to placenta and other troubles. Yeah it takes longer to recover but if it brings about a live mother and baby when a regular birth can not then it is worth it. Hang in there. Praying for you.

Just got this PM today from another friend and thought I'd share it for those of you who have asked me about Iodoral:

I just wanted to let you know...

I got some bloodwork back from my midwife yesterday and my TSH levels went from 5.90 three months ago to 1.01 currently. The only thing I have really been doing differently is the Iodoral. So...proof that it works! Again....THANK YOU!

Went in for another ultrasound today - They were mostly concerned with getting better pictures of the growth, so focused on that area for the majority of the time.  At my best guess, it appears to be as big, or bigger, than the baby is at this point - and it is under part of my placenta.  My placenta is still sitting over my cervix as well, though that could still change as pregnancy progresses.  (My fundus is right below my belly button already - so am measuring at closer to my original dates.)

On a good note, Baby is measuring at 15 weeks today, so seems to be growing closely to their last estimate - we are now approximately 3 weeks different than what our original 'best guess' was.  Quite active, and we got to see little fingers, heart beating, and the baby opening/closing his/her mouth.

Anyway, before I got home, the radiologist had already left a message for me to call; I need to go back in again, as they want even more angles of the growth.  They let me know not to expect a call from my dr. until after we do the next ultrasound.  I am scheduled for next Tuesday (earliest they could schedule me). 

Overall, I am (surprisingly) not feeling stressed or worried, but obviously, from a medical standpoint, some of this isn't sounding "great".  Again, please just pray for His will concerning our family...

I could use some prayers for endurance, better health, energy and the ability to do what I gotta do. Im currently under going some medical test. My diabetes doc has been doing test to see which type of diabetes I am more of. The lab works shows me as a strange mix of both type 1 and type 2. I knew I was a double diabetic but they had hoped to figure out which type I was more of so they could figure out which treatment to proceed with. Since I am showing up as a fairly even mix of both types they are kind of confused as to how to proceed. I am also confused because if I knew which type I was more of I would know which herbs to use to help myself. The both types of diabetes respond differently to certain herbs and have different causes and actions.

During the testing to type my diabtes they discovered some rare abnomalitites in my blood work that indicates yet another autoimmune illness but a rare one. A bad one. Once a person gets 1 autoimmune illness such as diabetes they have an open door to getting more. I dont feel like I have that rare illness tho but am glad they are checking it out just incase because early treatment is better then too late treatment.

Also for some time now my liver has not been doing well and test keep showing up with elevated liver enzymes and I have liver or pancreas or bile duct pains. Certain natural stuff help like apples and lemon juice but I cant just keep treating the symptoms and never getting to the cause of what is doing it. The doc is getting  worried over the high numbers and the painful sick episodes of possible liver pain so I will be seeing a liver doctor soon. It is possible I have liver damage due to the diabetes.

I ask for prayer for all that plus I have an incredible amount of stuff  I am going to have to do the next few months. I dont know how I will be able to do it phsyically. But I have to. Pray me strong please.

Quick update as I intended to earlier last week...

My last ultrasound (taken 5 days after the previous one) showed the "growth" or fibroid (or whatever it was!?) is completely gone!  My energy level is up slightly, baby looks healthy and is moving around like an acrobat (!!), so aside from my placenta still being in the wrong spot, the pregnancy is much better than it was!

Runamok-Im so glad things are looking better   Dont ya just love it when baby is active like that? I always enjoyed it when my babies would be active which made my belly move around.

About my above prayer request. Thankfully I do not have the rare illness called stiff man sydrome although the doc taught me how to keep an eye out for it since there are only 2 illnesses that contain high levels of the GAD antibodies which is diabetic and stiff man and my levels are very high. Higher then the average diabetic. But as of right now all looks good and Im not showing any signs of stiff manso no worries there . He said I was strong and was impressed with that. I felt like laughing and saying "yep that's the way we country gals are ya know, dont mess with a country girl cause she'll pound ya" LOL.

That doc was a nuerologist and even he is concerned about my liver due to the lab work and symptoms. I know I am likely to have diabetic related liver disease but I wont know until I see the liver doc in April.  As of right now Im drinking dandelion root tea and when we get the money will be getting some milk thistle for my liver.  And then this summer I will pick dandelion root and milk thistle to dry for my own free use.

God blessed me today with a good doc. The doc said something about having my diabetes doc give me quinine (spell) for a certain diabetic related (long name) pain in the pancreas. That struck me as cool because my theory is that I become attracted to foods that my body needs and I have been attracted to grapefruit peelings which contain quinine. God sure is smart ya know, smart to make me want the very things I need.

Keep praying for my liver. Thank you.

I'm glad you aren't dealing with stiff man on top of other challenges.
 
My husband has had some liver issues and we found green tea (we use the jasmine green tea from BHS ) does great things for his liver.  His enzyme levels have reduced by half by just drinking green tea.

My DH is having a cat scan on his brain tomorrow looking for Multiple Sclerosis lesions.  He's been having some of the symptoms, and there's a lot of it in his family.  His Dad, and 5 or 6 other people.  I'm not sure what to pray for... healing, that God will use it for his glory or to lead DH to him, etc.  Please just pray with me if you want, and however you feel best. Thanks.

Please pray for a family friend who has been fighting liver problems his whole life and now his liver is failing and he is waiting to find out if he will be given a new liver. He is young (early 30ish) and very much loved. Please pray that he is healed (through a liver or healing of his own) and pray for his family and friends.
