The missions area of this forum has not been used very much, and it is a shame. Hopefully, we can remedy that a little.
There is a project coming up in the fall through our church here that we are excited about. It is overseas, but due to the nature and especially the location, I do not want to put much information out. It is not the typical short-term project where a few folks go over and pass out tracts or help the locals build a church building for the adventure of it all, then come home on go on back to there lives.
That makes it a little tough for folks that do not know me personally, I realize. But if the Lord leads, we would very much like you to pray with us beginning now over it.
1. Pray for wisdom from God regarding the logistics involved. It is time for the church to start thinking outside the box regarding missions endeavors, WHILE STAYING WITHING THE GUIDLINES OF SCRIPTURE. I had to add and emphasize that last. It too often gets lost in the zeal and imagination of the saints these days
2. Pray for divine preparation in advance on the other end. God's hand is not shortened to save, nor is it limited by time, distance, borders, language or culture.
3. Pray for more vision, both for us, for you and for those on the other end. Without a vision the people perish.
4. Pray for grit and dedication. It is not about short-term adventure evangelism. It is about a long term BIG goal that will take dedication, focus and many years of boring plowing under a hot sun. We seem to have lost sight of the fact that God's work is work.
5. Pray for laborers. Not for this immediate undertaking, but for the need of lifelong follow up that we pray it will create.
I'm sorry for the vague details, but if God lays this on your heart, all you need is faith in His wisdom and His plan for the future and an understanding of and a willingness to participate in intercessory prayer. May God bless
