Esposita,
I absolutely wore out my copy of "Jungle Doctor on Safari" as a child. Fun and insightful at the same time. I also really enjoyed the style in which Paul White tells the stories!
At the top of my list of favorites are these:
Evidence Not Seen by Darlene Deibler Rose.
The Heavenly Man by Brother Yun with Paul Hattaway.
The Hiding Place and
Tramp for the Lord by Corrie ten Boom.
If you want an extremely non-typical but fascinating "missionary" story try
Spirits of the Rainforest by Mark Andrew Ritchie. (Note: This is definitely an adult-only book. It tells the story of a shaman in his own words... which is a fascinating perspective but includes very frank descriptions of jungle life/warfare. Turns out they are NOT living in Eden.
