Prayer Requests -- ministries & ministers

Not sure where to post this, but I wanted to ask you guys to pray. I know some of you may be familiar with the Maxwell family and their ministry at Titus2.com. They are founders of the MOTH scheduling system. Anyway, their oldest son Nathan and his wife Melanie had a precious baby daughter yesterday morning - their first child. She is not well at all and they are asking for prayer for some very difficult medical decisions and obviously for healing, comfort, etc....
You can see her picture and read updates on her condition in their blog. I know they would appreciate your prayers on little Susannah's behalf. Blessings.

In case you haven't been reading their blog, little Susannah went to be with Jesus yesterday. Please keep praying for this grieving family. Especially lift up Melanie as she is recovering physically from the birth and her body is physically aching for a baby.

Hi all. My husband and I would really covet your prayers for our family and some decisions my husband is feeling led to make. He gave me permission to share with you. Brief background: We are first generation Christians - I went to church growing up, but it was more of a "social" thing than a relationship. Anyway, now we are both committed to Jesus and raising our children in a God-centered home. We have struggled to find a church since we moved away from "home" 13 years ago. About 18 months ago we started attending a fairly new church and it was such an answer to prayer. They are all about missions and planting churches and training people to "live on mission with God." It has been an amazing adventure so far. For as long as I can remember, I have been infatuated with other people groups. I love to travel, and I hate tourist spots, I want to see the real thing when I am in another place. I just love people. I have always wanted to adopt internationally and even before I was truly saved I loved to volunteer with inner city children or at after school centers for minority groups.
All of these feelings of mine were way "ahead" of my husband, he is the provider -- Mr. Command 100%, type A personality, tunnel vision focus on making it in his career. I have to say, before I found CTBHHM, we had a bit of a rocky marriage. But, once I found it, identified myself as a "Jezebel" (much to my dismay) and committed to wait on God to work on my husband -- things are happening so fast now!
Ever since we started attending this church, my desire to do mission work has increased ten fold. I try so hard to take it to the Lord, because it is all about Him leading my husband and not me getting ahead of the plan. This church has planted 40 some churches all over the world in the past 3 years, it is amazing to see God pour out His blessings when you trust Him. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago one of the pastors was sitting behind us during the service and we didn't know it. I can't remember the topic of the service, but I remember that I started to cry and my husband just got on his knees and started praying at the end of the service. God has really been speaking to him about doing something, but my husband is very confused. He is so much more patient than I and content to wait upon God's timing. We have asked several people to pray for us, but we really haven't talked details with anyone.
My husband got a call yesterday from one of the pastor's (the one that was behind us) and he asked my husband to lunch. He told him that while sitting behind our family that week that the Lord really impressed upon him that He wants to do something awesome with my husband and he wanted to talk about it. My husband was floored. It was quite a confirmation for him that He is really hearing from the Lord. Amazing! Anyway, the pastor invited him on a 5-day trip to check on a church we planted in Brazil. They will be doing some work with the people there and then the pastor offered to begin intense prayer, fasting, and counseling with my husband to help him figure out where the Lord is leading us.
Through the internet I could not possibly explain to you how huge this is. My husband is a corporate executive. He has been an awesome provider for our family and a wonderful daddy and husband, but to walk away from all of this is would send a message to everyone we know and there would be NO DOUBT that God is real and powerful!! (Not that we doubt it, but we have lots of unsaved family and lots of friends who attend church for the "social" function rather than the relationship).
Looking over the years though, God has definitely been preparing both of our hearts for a simpler lifestyle, possibly more primitive than either of us could have imagined. I am so excited, but a bit nervous too. Please pray for our family and especially my husband. Thank you so much.

I'm sorry. I just saw your question, but I'm not sure I understand it. Do you mean on this forum is there a special place to put prayer requests or are you referring specifically to this situation?

Neither, what I was looking for was a "prayer-chain" web-site. Anywhere online that someone would be able to post prayer requests and view follow-ups. Thank you for your help.

Please pray for Mrs. Hovind, you may or may not be familiar with the Hovind's and I know that many people don't like the Hovind's, but Mrs. Hovind really needs a lot of prayer right now. I wont go into any details but Mrs. Hovind is not well and has to report to jail on the 31st of August for 6 months. She is a strong woman spiritually, but not physically. If you would like more information you can go to
www.cseblogs.com
for info on the case and how the ministry is doing, and
www.drdino.com
for information on the ministry.
Thank you for your prayers, the Hovind's are wonderful people and are truly being tested right now.
I need to clarify on her state of health, she is not sick, that I know of, but does not sleep or eat well. And I can imagine her emotions are rather ragged right now.

I forgot to update with the wonderful news! Mrs. Hovind's plea to be able to stay at home until the appeal goes through was accepted! It may be a year or more before the appeal goes to court because they keep on delaying the court transcripts. I haven't heard anything from CSE recently but I have been going to
www.cseblogs.com
for updates.

;DIt's almost 2008! Ladies - know that my heart is with y'all! When The Lord places that nudge in your heart, I don't think it ever goes away. No matter where we are - we should "be there!"
...trusting that The Lord knows what He is doing, and that He is faithful to what He has called us to do - Who also will do it! I bring this back up to let you know and remind you that where 2 or 3 are gathered together in His name - He is there in the midst. When you are praying along the lines of the urgings in your heart for your families, pray for one another and know that I am also praying - please pray for our family as well! He that hath begun a good work in us will perform it until the Day of Jesus Christ. PRAY! Pray for those who are in missions from the U.S. into other countries, pray for the indigenous ministries and individuals and families in Kingdom work within these other countries, pray for the different countries, pray for the ministries in the U.S., pray for the lost, the widows, the orphans, the ones with no family, those who are sick and dying, and pray for those in prison. Pray, and pray more...without ceasing! While we are in our everyday lives , in mundane activity, and in the extreme busyness of raising families, we can find that secret place. We're not waiting for the calling. We are IN IT! By PRAYER...we can know that HE HEARS and ANSWERS!

Some rather quick prayers lifted up to God would be much appreciated right now.
Prayer request #1----Here is my prayer request. Please pray if it be Gods will that my husband and I can come up with the money real soon because in order to get the cheapest airline tickets and places to stay we must get them now. I mean like this week. And if it is not meant for me to go help those girls that I will accept that and not be upset over it.
The reason why:
I have another opportunity to go on a short term missions trip to help out 2 orphaned girls that I met there in Jamaica a few months back while on another missions trip. It would only be me and a few other ladies going to help them and this time it would not be a church sponsored mission trip. So the trip has to be 100% funded by ourselves. I cant go into details about the trip as of yet but it would mostly require the work of females as it would not be proper for men to be staying alone with these young girls. This is not a trip to preach and teach. This is a trip to love and help. But it is important. It is something that will help these girls very much. I love those 2 girls. We spent time with them. They are precious children to God. They know and love Jesus.
My heart longs to go so bad. I think about missions a lot. I long for it. My husband is very supportive of this and wants so bad for me to be able to go. He is also wanting to go in 2009 to help build/repair the church/school there when our chuch goes again.
At this point I just cant see how in the world I could go because of financial issues. It just don't seem possible. But God can make it be possible.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
prayer request #2-------------For the money to copy ,put together and send out a large amount of booklets that teach others about God/Jesus.
The reason for the prayer:
A wonderful pastor man in Jamaica ,along with his wife helping him, made a booklet from the heart inspired by God teaching on several Biblical things. It is short, simple and sweet. It is their desire to keep making copies of it and walking around the roads and mountains giving it to their fellow Jamaicans with hopes of leading them to Jesus and giving them something to help them grow in their relationship with God. That simple little booklet of theirs has spoken to me and helped me. They have given me via word of mouth and in typed form permission to make copies of it to share with others.
But if you think things cost a lot here in America it is often times even worse in Jamaica. And they make a ton less money then us. So just the cost of printing more of those booklets is over whelming for them. More then they can finicaly bare on their own. There is an opportunity for my husband and I and my parents to have them printed up here in America and send them to the pastor in Jamaica ( the pastor who wrote the booklet. He gave me a copy when I was there). The money to copy the booklet would not cost all that much here in America but the cost of internationally shipping them is more then either my husband or parents can afford, it is simply awful. This can not be done without the help of God.

I don't know if this is the right place to put this, so mods please move if it needs to.
Just wanted to lift up a brother in Christ, Steven Curtis Chapman and his family in prayer.
We just heard this morning about a tragic accident at their home-- their son was pulling out of the driveway and their little girl was playing and he did not see her. She was hit and killed.
We are lifting up their family today, as their pain must be so great. We are
praying that the Lord would bring them comfort today and heal the wounds.

I am not able to go to Jamaica to help those girls and I am at peace with that. Yes I long to go but I'm OK with it now. The humidity and heat this time of the year is absolutely awful in Jamaica and my health would not be able to handle it. And there just isnt the funds to go. But some how God is helping me be cool with it. God is opening the doors for others to go help and this is His will.
One of my adult nieces from my church and one other lady are going for only a few nights and they will go get those girls and do what they gotta do. I wrote a letter to those girls and my niece will give it to them.
Pray all goes well this next weekend when they go to Jamaica. They leave this Friday and will get back on Monday. Pray for them please. And pray for those Jamaican girls.
Thank you.

I thought we already had a missions prayer request thread but cant find it right now.
I received an email from a friend who is a missionary is Bolivia. The missionary couple is currently in America right now do to recent health issues. They are desperately wanting prayers about the Bolivia Crisis going on right now. I have not heard anything about it in TV/radio so I had no idea anything major was going on in Bolivia right now.
Supposedly the communist in Bolivia are causing tons of trouble and persecuting people. And as always communist seem to like to pick on the Christians the most because communist hate Christianity. There is death and torture going on and the peoples much needed supplies are being stopped from getting to them.
From the way it sounds the deaths are not just a few here and there but in larger numbers.
Pray for the people of Bolivia, pray for the missionaries there, pray for the Christians there.
Just think how you would feel if a group of godless tyrants broke into your house ripped up your Bibles, raped your daughters, took all your food and money and demanded you renounce God or they would torture your children and or throw you all into a filthy cold jail. How would you feel?
Pray for them.
How would we feel if a large group of Godless tyrants came and prevented us from going to the grocery stores and they blocked the roads and have their armed guards at the stores so we cant buy food for our families? How would we deal with that?
Pray for them.
For us in America it would be like bad guys stopping us from getting into walmart to buy food and diapers and much needed supplies. And if we lived in an area that did not grow many wild foods then what would we do to feed our families?
Pray for them.
Try imaging yourself in their shoes and realize we must pray for them and others around the world going threw these things.
Pray for them.

PRAY FOR CHRISTIANS UNDER ATTACK IN INDIA
Gospel-resistant Region of India Sees More Violence than Previously Witnessed (10/09/08)
Quote
"We have never seen anything like this. We knew that Orissa was the most resistant and hostile State in India as far as the Gospel is concerned. And we brushed off the continuous threats and harassment we faced as we went about His work. But none of our staff imagined that they would see this kind of carnage...And it seems to be totally under the radar of the Western Media."
The ministry leaders says that a militant Hindu priest and 4 of his attendants, who were zealously going around the villages of Orissa and 'reconverting' people back to Hinduism, were gunned down by unknown assailants in Central Orissa last weekend.
"Immediately the Christians were blamed. The cry rose up...'Kill the Christians!' And the horror began...In the past 4 days, we have been firsthand witnesses to hundreds of churches being blown up or burned and many, many dozens of Christian tribals have been slaughtered, for no other reason than that they bear the name of Christ."
Night and day the ministry leader says he has been in touch with the Good News India Directors spread across 14 Dream Centers in Orissa.
"They are right in the middle of all this chaos. In Tihidi, just after the police came to offer protection, a group of 70 bloodthirsty militants came to kill our staff and destroy the home. They were not allowed to get in, but they did a lot of damage to our Dream Center by throwing rocks and bricks and smashing our gate, etc. They have promised to come back and 'finish the job.' Our kids and staff are locked inside and have stayed that way with doors and windows shut for the past 3 days. It has been a time of desperately calling on the Lord in prayer."
The ministry leader goes on to say that more police have come to offer protection.
"In Kalahandi, the police and some local sympathizers got to our dream center and gave our staff and kids about 3 minutes' notice to vacate. No one had time to even grab a change of clothes or any personal belonging. As they fled, the bloodthirsty mob came to kill everyone in the building. We would have had a mass funeral there, but for His grace. In Phulbani, the mob came looking for Christian homes and missions. The local Hindu people, our neighbors, turned them away by saying that there were no Christians in this area. So they left. We had favor. The same thing happened in Balasore."
The ministry leader adds: "All our dream centers are under lock-down with the kids and staff huddled inside and police outside. The fanatics are circling outside waiting for a chance to kill. Others were not so fortunate. In a nearby Catholic orphanage, the mob allowed the kids to leave and locked up a Priest and a computer teacher in house and burned them to death. Many believers have been killed and hacked into pieces and left on the road -- even women and children. At another orphanage run by another organization, when this began, the director and his wife jumped on their motorbike and simply fled, leaving all the children and staff behind. Every one of our GNI directors that I have spoken to said: 'We stay with our kids...we live together or die together, but we will never abandon what God has called us to do.'"
More than 5,000 Christian families have had their homes burned or destroyed, the ministry leader said.
"They have fled into the jungles and are living in great fear waiting for the authorities to bring about peace. But so far, no peace is foreseen. This will continue for another 10 days; supposedly the 14-day mourning period for the slain Hindu priest. Many more Christians will die and their houses be destroyed. Many more churches will be smashed down. The Federal government is trying to restore order and perhaps things will calm down.
"We ask for your prayers. Only the Hand of God can calm this storm. None of us know the meaning of persecution. But now our kids and staff know what that means. So many of our kids coming from Hindu backgrounds are confused and totally bewildered at what is happening around them. So many of their guardians have fled into the jungles and are unable to come and get them during these trying times."
The ministry leader states: "Through all this, I am more determined than ever to continue with our goal: the transformation of a community by transforming it's children. Orissa will be saved -- that is our heart's cry. If we can take these thousands of 'throwaway children' and help them to become disciples of Jesus, they will transform an entire region. It is a long-term goal, but it is strategic thinking in terms of the Great Commission."
What can you do?
The leader writes: "First, please uphold all this in fervent prayer. Second, pass this e-mail on to as many friends as you can. We must get the word out and increase our prayer base, for this is spiritual warfare at its most basic meaning. We are literally fighting the devil in order to live for His Kingdom. The next 10 days are crucial. We pray for peace and calm to pervade across Orissa."
He concludes: "Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please pass it on and help us to get as many people to partner with us on this cutting edge effort to fulfill His mandate: Go and make disciples of all nations. Prayer works!"
Christians cower from Hindu backlash in Orissa (9/03/08)
Quote
The Hindu part of the village was untouched. For four days Digal and his stricken Christian neighbours hid in the teak forests, before being herded to a government-run relief camp.
The violence replicated itself in village after village, as the rural Kandhamal district of Orissa convulsed from some of the worst anti-Christian attacks in India.
At least 16 people, mostly Christians were killed, churches destroyed and 10,000 Christians were forced to flee their homes as violence spread.
Christians responded with some -- not proportionate -- violence. Almost all the villages Reuters visited bore evidence of attacks on Christians.
Relief shelters were packed with Christian refugees, most of them women and children as their men folk were too scared to emerge from forest hideouts.
At one temporary camp in Raikia village, some 8,000 people crammed into two floors of a government office, sleeping on the bare floor and surviving on rice and lentils given twice a day.
"It was the hate campaigns of the Sangh Parivar which led to untold misery for Christians," said Sam Paul of the All-India Christian Council, referring to an apex body of Hindu radicals.
There has not been a long tradition of rivalry between Hindus and Christians, who form less than three percent of officially secular India's 1.1-billion population.
On the contrary, the missionaries have a reputation of running some of the finest schools in India.
Intolerance has risen, though, in the last two decades with a revival in Hindu nationalism in India, and a new agenda to fight "foreign faiths" said to be undermining Hinduism.

We know of all this SC , through other ministries that go into India and other countries from the U.S. These things are UNREAL - but true! Also in the Philippines, mainly I think, Mandanao Island, in Africa, in China, in Turkey absolute horror!...and now in Laos, on and on....the persecution seems to us so UNREAL, UNBELIEVABLE, UNIMAGINABLE... God is raising up a "Nehemiah's Wall": those who will fervently pray for others; their Bretheren in The BODY OF CHRIST globally; building one another up , and joining together in The Holy Spirit, for the very times that we are in right now, and the eminent times ahead. Poor and needy ministries from poor and needy countries are obtaining PROVISION by God's hand, and are going into other poor and needy countries - indigenous ministries are joining hands to hold crusades, and thousands of people at a time are coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. Pastors training conferences are being held in many of these persecuted countries with tremendous fruit and benefit. The WORD says that the gates of Hell shall not prevail against The Church of The LIVING LAMB! So when we see all of these things, we are not to fear. We know The Lord is at hand! Many ministers we have communicated with for years, and some in more recent meetings who are in other countries simply, only , ever just ask for PRAYER. They PRAY for us! And those who have been killed, are no longer in suffering, but are now with the Lord Jesus Christ. Glory to God!

Not sure if this thread is for this but I have been feeling so much sadness for the people in Asia. They are all in my heart and prayers daily especially since all of the typhoons, mudslides, flooding, tsumamis and earthquakes they are experiencing. I just cannot stop crying for them and thinking of them. It is so sad.
I know that our brothers and sisters are hurting right now, for their families and for their people. Please pray!

I hope Im posting this in the right place.
Anyways, please pray for me and those going with me on this missions trip to Jamaica.
We will be gone from December 26, 2009 until Jan 4, 2010. Will be staying up in the mountains at an orphanage/church/school compound. Will be going from village to village church to church doing dental hygeine teaching and VBS plus some minor construction projects. Also it looks like we may get to go visit a girls home and a nursing home.
Pray me strong. My health is declining and I fear this will be the last missions trip because of it. Pray my health is good and my energy level is good too. Pray I am Spirit lead.
Im turning off my email notifications for now. Our phone/internet will be shut off while Im gone. Also pray my hubby can find a job. The job market is not good right now.

You could say I have a front row seat on this "mission". A month ago AFH was a tiny group of doctors and their friends and family members trying to make a difference. God has been so amazing in what he has provided to some really cool young (and older) men in their desire to do whatever small thing was at hand to do and dedicated to letting Jesus shine through them as they go about their life.
I think most of you here at 7x will be blessed reading these the updates. Especially go back to the 2/3/10 update. They can't relate all they see and experience, but they've been trying to share something every few days. If you feel led to pray for these guys...they need it...and they believe in prayer!
