Need some ideas for a missions trip

Howdy,
I need some ideas for a missions trip I'll hopefully be taking at the end of the year.
I love missions but My husband and I have not been called to be full time missionaries. But there are always short term missions trips and helping those that are full time missionaries. And thats what we are doing.
No we do not go on short term missions trips just for the "adventure" of it to pass out tracts. The last one was to repair a home of an old couple that got ruined by hurricane Katrina.
This next trip will be the the poverty parts of Jamaica. Whenever I say that people flip out and think of Jamaica as only being a party tourist place. But thats not so. Deep into Jamaica up in the mountains is poverty and homelessness.
Thankfully Jamaica is open to the gospel and open to church groups coming in.
My church went there 1 other time 3 years ago but I have never been there. I know that there wont be water and food readily available. And we will have to contend with the giant rats and cockroaches but that I can deal with but only with Gods help! And I feel I can prepare for that.
We don't know yet for sure what we are doing but it looks like we will be repairing some homes, churches, and maybe one of the many orphanages. But I don't know yet. Whatever it is I want to do it for God, to show the love of Jesus by helping others. We might have to do a VBS for all the jungle mountain kids because they don't get to do that kind of stuff in the area we will be.
I am wondering if there are many Bibles, tracts or other Christian materials with pictures of black people on/in them? I ask because so very many times I have heard and read people saying that Christianity is the white mans religion. I don't want for them to think that, I think people should know that JESUS is for EVERYONE of EVERY RACE. The last time my church went there they did a VBS along with their repair work and they noticed the kids taking brown or black crayons and coloring the white faces their color on the materials. I don't see anything wrong with that but it would be nice if there were some Christian materials to give them with faces like theirs. They need to see that they are beautiful and special as well. This is mainly for the kids.
Anyone know of any such materials?
Please feel free to give any other advice on this missions trip, I could certainly use it.
I am currently on our church missions board helping plan this trip. We have tons of money to make . Fortunately we know the very Godly full time missionary old couple who run the orphanage compound we will be at. And we also know the other main full time missionary man there so he can line up work for us to do.
Hey please dont missunderatand Im not trying to say " look at me me me me, Im doing missions" , This post is not a pride thing.
I would sure enjoy your ideas, comments and help about missions. Thank you!

If you're from Colombia City, surely you've heard of
World Missionary Press

Yep I have heard of them and I go there sometimes and know some of the ppl there. It is a great place and I use their stuff a lot. I even talked to them about maybe making some of their materials with more 'colorful' faces on them. I just love that place. I plan on taking some of their stuff with me on the trip.
Sadly all to many ppl in this world think Christianity is the white mans religion and just for the whites. Most of the Bible story pics and so on contain mostly or only white ppl. Since God made ALL ppl I feel as if it would be nice to see ALL the races of ppl and have such materials to give to others.
But I know race is not the important issue. Jesus is and God can reach anyone anyhow no matter the race or country. I just thought materials similar to a country's culture and race would help.
For example like how now a days missionary's are beginning to train ppl in the unreached countries about the Bible and Jesus and then those trained ppl go out dressed in their cultures clothing, using their cultures language to teach their own people about Jesus. They say this is a much better method and reaches ppl easier, faster and better then having out of country missionaries come in to stick around for years trying to learn the culture and language before they can teach and preach.
Either way I admire missionaries no matter which of the 2 mentioned methods they use.

An 11 year old boy writes and illustrates his own customized tracts and story boards, depending on where his family is going or who he feels led to reach. He uses free stock illustrations (from the computer) of people of different races and cultural practices.

That is a great idea!
What a smart boy. Now if I can think of a way to make some up for the kids. The misssions director said last Sunday that in addition to doing the physical labor we will also be doing a few VBS for the kids.
Perhaps I can think of a way to make up some interresting things for them to look at.
THANK YOU
